So he is in his 29th year of life, that and I like fudging numbers, lol, he none the less is approaching his drop off years,  time and tide waits for no man, a two year contract at most, with an easy out, we have huge needs across our defensive back field, those must be addressed,

He'll be 29 through the entire 2025 season too.

Von was great for LA in his 30s, and looked good for us at 32 until his ACL blew out on that crap turf in Detroit.

Garrett has a few years left.

He has 2 years left on current deal with no guaranteed money. I'd convert some 2025 salary to guaranteed to make him happy immediately, then work on a new deal this year. Extend his 1 year left to 3 in order to spread out the hits.

Then he is still done with the Bills almost a full year before his 33rd bday.

The DBs can be addressed with our mid/late picks where Beane shines. Just need another Benford from the 5th round, and a Safety to replace Rapp. Shouldnt be a problem for Beane.

Rousseau, a 1 and a 2? Who says no?

I'd like to keep Rousseau and pair him with Garrett for a year.  Perhaps AJ?  2 1st?  Bean is not great in the 1st round anyway, and he basically said at his press conference that he can't find elite talent there.

Anyone remember Mario Williams?  He was a great pickup for the Bills, 43 sacks in 4 years, but only 5 of them in his last season here, which was his 30-year-old season. He went right off a cliff.

Myles Garrett is heading into his 30-year-old season.

Just sayin'

There was a helluva lot more going on than this synopsis implies.

"Remember Karlos Williams? He was 23 and set a rookie record. Turned 24 and was out of the league" LOL

KC traded Hill to Miami while he was definitely in his prime - and that team was a threat before they got Hill.

Cleveland will absolutely trade him in conference if it’s the best deal and of course Garrett agrees.

Garrett is 28. Von was 33 when we got him

Huge difference

One hasn’t had double digits sacks since 2018 while the other has had double digit sacks every season since 2018.

Garrett - 105.5 sacks since 2018

Miller - 46 sacks since 2018.

Don’t even argue with that guy!

I'm not worried about our offense. We're bringing the entire crew back next season, and can only upgrade it from this point.

I'd be thrilled just to have a Defensive player that Reid/Mahomes even have to gameplan for!

exactly.  We have 0 of those now.  And only 1 on offense.  The early picks have been underwhelming with Bean.  I have zero issue trading them away.  The draft is deep at DL, S, CB, and #2 WRs, all of which we would likely take at 30 anyway.

Hopefully the Bills. No non-QB is worth a haul anywhere close to that.

If the Bills didn't pick near the end of each round and hit on their 1st round picks better, I would agree with you.

Some people here act like all picks within a round are the same. It’s not like we’re picking 10th. We’d be offering picks 30, 56 (or 62) and Rousseau. I don’t see how that is a serious offer for Myles Garrett.

I agree. Did you see Rusini’s post? It’s in line with this.

No. Just give them the draft capital. Rousseau opposite Garrett is the super bowl pass rush we need imo.

Go get Khalil Mack for the other side.  I believe he is a free agent.  Make the pass rush great again

Simple answer.  Draft picks are unproven commodities.

Elam

Rosseau

Kincaid

Coleman

All 4 of these guys combined, are not worth Myles Garret.  You can still fill some holes through FA, and in rounds 2-5, but it's a lot harder to land a blue chip player like Garrett, especially at an elite position.

I dont think the whole "in conference" thing makes any sense at all if youre a bad team like CLE.  Baltimore (in division)? Sure you say no.  But do the Browns really think the AFCCG is the hump they need to get over to win a SB LOL because thats the reason you avoid in conference

I dont disagree... like I said by the time they are good MG will be well into his thirties.. trading them in Division comes with the joy of playing him twice a year, so its either gonna be a deterent or its gonna cost a divisional team more... in the end you can not cut out and entire Conference and hope to get the best return you can... especially when the player went public and you are behind the 8 ball already... that being said... their best offer is 1st 2nd and 3rd next year and Baltimore is willing to give up a 1,2 and 1 next year... guess where he is going.

You could keep Rousseau for a year. You can’t re-sign him so you can play for the comp pick if that’s the route that you want to go. Either way, you’re going to have to find someone to play long term across from Garrett.

I would think we’d be on his short list

only Det. worries me, he may want to form a monster DL.  But that team is further away from a SB win than we are, IMO.  He'd be "the man" on D here, and if we keep Greg R, will be part of a good tandem.

I could see Dallas throwing their hat in the ring…a pass rush with Garrett and Parsons would be something to behold…and I’m sure Jerry’s in need of some attention, what with the recent success of Philly and Washington…

Is Dallas a SB contender?    With Philly and Washington in their division?   If Garrett saw it that way I'd be surprised.   Again,  Garrett will have some say.   I'm sure he'd prefer go to KC or Philly but I doubt those two will be in on trading a #1 plus for him.   Philly is always a wildcard though and they could offer player talent in addition to their late pick.

I agree, keep Rousseau, and also draft the long-term replacement for across from Garrett.  Kyle Kennard from S. Carolina is an interesting option who should be there in Rd. 2 or 3, same with Braydon Swinson from LSU.
