The dude does have some gas in the tank and he can still play..........it's not like we're the Cards of the late 90's and early 2000's, where players went to have their careers die peacefully.

 

We are a legit contender, so if it's feasible, then i say bring him in.

I agree, but that play doesn’t involve a guy like Myles Garrett at all. That’s why I don’t like giving up first round draft picks for defensive players. Where have Hutchinson, Hendrickson, Micah Parsons and Crosby gotten their teams? I need someone to sell me on the value of game changing defensive players in today’s offense oriented league.

Aren't we looking a t two potential 3rd round comp picks as well? Offer those and a first rounder.

That’s fair. There are some up and coming teams that pick earlier, but you are correct that most will be at the end of the round.

We just took the KC dynasty team to the last play of the AFC Champ game. We could very easily be 1 player away. Especially if that player is a stud Defensive End.

 

KC's defense made 4.5 stops.

Buffalo's defense made 3.5, with not a single real stop the entire first half.

 

One more forced punt and we win that game comfortably.

It has been the Defense that has caused us every playoff loss.

 

For all the flack I give McD, I havent seen him drop our DEs much, and wouldnt be too concerned there. When push comes to shove, Garrett is getting after the QB.

 

As far as draft picks go, I dont see many openings for rookies to come in and start right away anywhere on the team, expect maybe DL.

How much impact have 1st rounders Kaiir Elam, Greg Rousseau, and Dalton Kincaid collectively had on our roster the past few years anyway?

Edge rusher is one of those impact positions -- and Garrett is one of those rare players impactful enough AT that position -- that you give up the draft picks necessary to acquire him if you can.

 

Would transform the defense. Would be the biggest possible swing you could take toward maximizing Josh Allen's physical prime.

Do it. I don't care if it's expensive.

I wouldn’t be upset if we got Garrett. I’d love to see him come here and perform phenomenally. It would help put an end to excuses for not slowing down KC.  I do worry about Mahomes’ and Reid’s ability to neutralize a player like Garrett. We’ve seen guys like Bosa and Hutchinson neutralized by great offensive coaches. The offense beyond Cook is concerning as well, and we could easily see production decrease next season if resources aren’t spent there as well.

Bruce = 92

 

Bruce managed to rack up another 108 sacks over 10 more year playing until 40. 

 

Myles ???  Technically on pace to Break his record.

While it’s very likely he gets a new deal it’s not 100%.  The point still remains that an extension would most likely lower his cap hit to start.

He can’t skip the contract redo and get more help. We need the extension to kick his cap number down the road. The bill has barely come due on his first extension. To date his cap number hasn’t eclipsed $30M. We can’t take a $65M cap number in 26/27. Even relief on his $43M number next year would be helpful.
