Winning and losing in the NFL is complicated, and we’re more than one player away from beating KC. It’s a combination of issues that cause us to lose against KC. Myles Garrett doesn’t necessarily fix any of them.

Other teams will offer more than a late first, a late second and a good, but limited DE who needs a new, large contract. Calling with that offer is the same as calling the Browns and telling them you aren’t interested.

Maybe, but it’s not insulting. If Rousseau was traded by himself you would get a 3 and maybe a 2. If you offer a 1,2, & 3, they aren’t slamming the phone on you. It’s a strong starting point and depending on their perception of Rousseau, may be a stronger offer than they receive from some others.

what’s the price tag? Anyone have an idea? Two 1st rounders?

Start with the price Chicago paid to get Mack and add from there.

If they trade Rousseau to get him, if rather trade the inside player like Oliver.

Regardless, if they do trade Rousseau to get Garrett, they need an opposite pass rusher similar to be Bennett opposite Bruce

Myles Garrett specifically said he wants to go to a contender correct?

This is big for us

There isn’t a scenario where Rousseau & Garrett are both on this team IMO. Maybe they are for a year and you play for the comp pick a year after Rousseau leaves in FA. You aren’t having 2 DEs compensated like that.

Mario Williams actually played here

I'm just talking about epic threads. I know there are a couple others I'm forgetting from over the years too.

Honestly, that’s a good package for the Browns. They should just stack picks, get young players, and rebuild.

I would be hesitant to move Greg R because I feel like he would be the best robin to Garrett’s Batman and we could see the best version of him.

Rousseau would be a great Robin. You just can’t pay Robin what he’s going to get after this year.

Generally I’m not on board with trading away the future.  But honestly we are so bad at drafting first rounders I’m actually all in on this Garrett thing.

Think of it this way.  Would you trade…

Kaiir Elam, Dalton Kincaid, and Keon Coleman straight up for Myles Garrett?

I would.  And those are 3 first rounders.  Wanna throw in Rousseau too?  That’s 4 first rounders and you could argue still worth it.

Why was he listed in the list of players then?

He just turned 29. If you're going to mortgage your future, I would rather it be for a young, Aidan Hutchinson type than a guy on the back nine. We made that mistake with Von Miller.

I’m always more than good with trading away the future for proven players, but I don’t like doing it for any player approaching thirty.

We draft too late for our 2 firsts to compete with other offers.

He said he wants to go to a contender.

All contenders are picking late.

I'm not on the Myles Garrett train.  He will be 30 next season.  Those reliably consistent prime production years are in the rearview mirror.  In comparison, with a Maxx Crosby trade, you're picking up his age 28, 29 and 30 season.

I'm not advocating for Crosby over Garrett - I'm generally against spending a lot of money and resources on age 29+ players.  I don't think it ever works out in the team's favor for very long with long seasons of regular schedule games and playoff runs.

Technically he'll be 29 through 95% of the next season.

This isnt like when we signed Von who was already 32.
