Joe B is gonna make sure Chase and Higgins get paid first, after that Trey. Can we get in there and deal? There will be a bidding war. Get it done 1st...BB There is no way they get a 1st for Hendrikson. Zero. Nada. Nil. Zilch. And I like Trey a lot, wanted us to go for him when he was a FA. 30 year old edge rushers who were 3rd round draft picks. Someone swapping their 1st for Cincy's 2nd... sure. I could see that. But a first round pick right up? Not a chance. 1 Quote

Teams desperate to make a run and have a late 1st when all the premium pass rushers will be gone could go for it. You get a proven guy for a couple years at least. 1 1 Quote

Both Diggs and Brown were considered among the best at their position and Hendrickson falls in that same category. The difference is the age, Diggs and Brown were much younger and just entering their prime and Hendrickson clearly isn’t. No chance Bengals get a 1st, imho. 1 Quote

He isn't going to be happy on the same contract somewhere else. 2 1 Quote

It is what we have lacked. Of course there comes a price where you can't do it. But you have to try and find a deal even if you fail. 1 6 Quote

They will need to roll out of those old guys. As each day goes by, and we hear no real effort on the Brown's part about a Garrett trade it just makes my point about a post June 1st trade more possible. Browns don't need the picks this year. They already have 13 of them. They sure could use some picks next year after they have to move on from all these vets. I think most don't see how bad their situation is. Here are their current 2026 numbers. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/cap/_/year/2026/sort/cap_total I think if the Bills could work out a post-June 1st trade, it would best case scenario because they could use their first and/or second round picks in 2025 on DLers or DBs in a draft deep in defensive players, especially on DL. 14 hours ago, Alphadawg7 said: His cap hit to us is just $5m in a trade…I take it you didn’t know that based on this comment That's only for a one-year rental if the Bills don't sign him to a new contract. 1 Quote
gobills404 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 A cheap one year deal doesn’t stop us from going after Garrett, Crosby, or a high draft pick. It does however give us an actual starting DE opposite Groot. Quote

If you're talking about a FA, you're correct, but if you're talking about trading for Hendrickson, what the Bills would have to give up for that one-year rental could very well stop the Bills from trading for Garrett or Crosby. Didn't someone do that last year? That prevents them from being fined. One of the things I've read and it does make sense, rather than cut Miller, i the Bills can get him to go down to around $7 or $8 mil, it's better to keep him as the cap hit this year, plus what you'd need to pay his replacement make it now worth cutting him. The past two years though whenever Miller came in they'd move Groot to other side, that's not going to work if Garrett is over there, so what's the best solution then? Groot moves inside like he did at Miami? Quote
colin Posted March 2 Posted March 2 garrett oliver groot, solomon on third and long is a disgusting mess for the offense. if there is any ability to cover, at all, i think our 3rd down ranking could go from bottom to top 5 right there. this is a guy who could challenge bruce's record, while being a physical presence and causing problems for the run game. aside for julius peppers, he might be the first guy i've seen who could be bruce. BillMafia716ix Posted March 2 Posted March 2 If you gotta give up two 1’s, a 4th rounder and a player you do it. No questions asked 1 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) Looks like a post June 1 trade might the Browns choice. which I believe works well for us. Don’t we save like 18 million by releasing Von post June 1? Edited March 2 by Warriorspikes51 1 Quote
