Highly doubt Browns want to / can afford to take on salary 1st, 1st, *2nd that can become a 1st, 4th, 6th That should get their attention. We'll accept Denzel Ward as well 😎 Edited February 15 by Warriorspikes51 1 Quote
cle23 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Mike Florio had a somewhat genius idea if including Watson in a trade of Garrett and reducing the compensation for the contract. Washington is about the only one who could afford it. 1 Quote

The Browns reportedly won’t do it. Garrett apparently won’t abandon his desire to go to a contender. The current odds at DraftKings have Garrett taking his next snap with a team that went farther than the Browns have gone since the late 1980s. The Commanders are +300 favorites to land Garrett. Next are the Eagles, at +450. His current team lands at 5-1. The Bills are +550, and the Lions have +650 odds. The Bears come in at +900” Quote

If I were the browns though, I would just get as much draft capital as I can from the Garrett trade, and eat Watsons contract for the next 2 years. Then after the two years if you hit on your premium draft capital, then you're making some noise 2 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted Monday at 01:09 AM Posted Monday at 01:09 AM I say give them both of our 2nds and next years first. Keep our first this year if we can. Quote

Which essentially equates to another late 2nd rounder. Even if they end up with late first rounders, that's the difference of 30ish picks. A world of difference in the players available. Quote

Not really a good comparison because I don’t know when the last time an MVP caliber pass rusher in the prime of his career was traded. 1 Quote

The only guy that fits this scenario that I can think of is Charles Haley but it was more because he and Siefert didn't get along. Quote

It doesn't happen because people arent going to give that much up for a non QB player and teams have little motivation to trade them for less as they are worth more to them as a player. Quote
