3rdand12 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) From PFT today Maxx Crosby: I’ve had doubts in past, but this is the most optimistic I’ve been about Raiders there's more if you take a look My chips are all in for Myles regardless of the challenges But not sure it can be done to be honest Edited February 7 by 3rdand12 1 Quote
SydneyBillsFan Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I just watched the Shout podcast with the Spotrac guy. He basically said that there are teams with QBs on rookie deals and tonnes of cap space that the Bills simply cannot match. We need to accept the reality that we are NOT getting Myles Garrett. He is going to be a Redskin or, gulp...a Patsy. Book it! 1 1 Quote

Myles Garrett will not be a Patriot in this lifetime. Quote

He said he wants to go to a contender and probably shuts down any trade to another team he doesn't want to go to by saying he won't sign a news contract with them. Washington is a possibility. Pats are not if he actually wants a ring and isn't just chasing the money. Edited February 7 by Billz4ever 1 Quote

So the Patriots are going to trade the 4th overall pick for a veteran pass rusher when they were just thisclose to being the worst team in the league? I think we have to remember the perspective of the acquiring team. That 4th overall pick is GOLD to them. If they won't give that up........and nobody gives up picks that early for expensive veteran talent of any sort........then the rest of their 2025 draft capital is less than Buffalo can offer. This is why teams like the Russ era Bills get fleeced by Philadelphia in the Jason Peters deal. The parties with the picks that align better are at the back end of round 1. Sure bad teams are interested too........but they don't want to part with pick #5.......and their next pick is usually AFTER the good teams. And then, on top of that, the Pats are going to risk sending 2026 picks as well and hope they don't go 6-11 as their young QB goes thru growing pains? It doesn't make sense at their stage of build. I think Marrone works there now but that doesn't mean they'd try to put the cart before the horse in the same manner that the Marrone Jags did before their incredibly quick ascent and fall. Now Washington makes a lot more sense. But other than picking one spot ahead of the Bills in the draft.......they don't have as much draft capital this year as Buffalo either. And they have more roster holes in general. What they CAN do is absorb money that the Bills would be hard pressed to. But the Browns are in a weird spot. Other than Newsome they don't have salaries that would be a benefit to dispose of. 1 Quote

That is just something players say when they are trying to push their way out of their current situation. I could totally see Garrett being ok with going to New England because of 1. Money and 2. Vrabel. 1 hour ago, BADOLBILZ said: So the Patriots are going to trade the 4th overall pick for a veteran pass rusher when they were just thisclose to being the worst team in the league? The Pats pick too high to give up their 1st. Although Im not sure there is a player as good as Garrett at #4 this year. So who knows. I also wonder if the Browns would take the Pats 2025 2nd, 2026 1st, and 2026 2nd... Edited February 7 by DrDawkinstein Quote

I think this was due more to us trying to sustain long drives so as to keep our defense off the field. Seemed to be our playoff strategy and it almost worked. 1 Quote

Maye looks real good, they have cap space, high draft picks... they'll be good, soon, especially if they get Garrett. 1 Quote

He probably vetoes any trade to a team in rebuild unless he isn't actually serious about trying to win a ring and is just chasing a big contract he doesn't think the Browns would be able to pay given the mess they're in with Watson's contract. Joe Marino was the one throwing around the no trade clause. Unfortunately it appears to be false information. Quote

He doesnt need a no trade clause. He can just say he will refuse to consider a new contract with that new team and sink the trade deal. No one is going to trade multiple 1sts for a 2 year rental, and Cleveland wants to milk as many high picks out of this as they can. 2 Quote

I get your point, but with $123M in cap space right now, I think they can make it work. New England is such an interesting situation right now. Quote
