Epenesa and CB Kaiir Elam Bills get: Garrett, 2025 third-round pick (No. 94, via Buffalo) and 2025 sixth-round pick (via Minnesota) No deal. I'm not ready to move on from Kaiir Elam. 1 2 13 Quote

Richard Noggin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 16 minutes ago, Mikie2times said: Looking at big things for him at camp Would be something if the Bills take measures to add serious talent to the CB pipeline and then Elam, in his contract year, somehow suddenly takes a big step forward and earns a job. Which means either he figures out how to effectively play OFF coverage AND/OR the Bills figure out how to line him up in PRESS without being predictable. There is at least some reason to worry about the long term impact of Benford's B2B concussions 7 days apart in January. Especially with how severe the 2nd one appeared. Combined with an aging Douglas's play at times dipping below his pay, the Bills should be looking to restock the cornerback cupboards. 1 Quote

Getting to keep Rousseau is nice, too. Wouldn’t mind getting some sort of 2026 draft capital back but I’d still take it as is. 1 Quote

At 56 i'd be going receiver with speed like Bond or Harris. Gotta get Allen a speed guy. 2 1 Quote

Also, we'd still have AJ and could draft 2 edges. Draft seems deep at above-average Edges. 1 Quote

You thought we saw benefit in the trade? Which part as I’m interested to see how the value was there in terms of on the field productivity. Regular Season: 8 games: 32 targets, 20 receptions, 297 yards, 2 TDs Averages of: 4 tpg, 2.5 cpg, 37.1 ypg, 0.25 TDpg Rams game alone he had 14-6-95-0. Remove that game, which we lost, and the numbers for 7 games (averages included) are: 18 (2.25), 14 (1.75), 202 (25.25), 2 (0.28) Playoffs: 3 games: 8 targets, 6 catches, 41 yards, 0 TD (2.6), (2.0), (13.6), (0.0) Those are numbers I might expect from a 3rd rounder seeing the field with Josh. Probably not even then. A vet who has the production history as Amari? No. It was a needle mover and did very little in the bigger moments. His best game accounted for a third of his production and we lost. Loved him as a morale and team first guy but to sacrifice a future 4 year asset on just as much cost control seems a little back our way in return for the pick. Fair play if you think otherwise. 1 Quote

I think without him we're the 3 seed and end up playing in Balt instead of them here right? Season still ends early no matter what as we might not win that road game. We don't beat the Chiefs without him. But again season still ended early. Quote

Groot is not "very average', he is an above average DE In the event of trading for Garrett, Groot would not be our #1 DE, Groot on the other side would be a nightmare for other teams If we have Groot when he plays out his contract and the Bills let him go to FA, he will command >$20M and the Bills will get a 3rd If we trade Groot in the package for Garrett the player replacing Groot in '25 will probably be nowhere near as good. So to maximize the 2025 season we would want Garret and Groot. 1 1 Quote
