Agree. It is not necessary to defend government waste and fraud in order to do this. Waste and fraud are a bad thing, actually.

Then you agree it would be best to do a careful analysis over the next few months before making calculated cuts, rather than Elon’s slash-and-burn?

I don’t. I would rather put a stop to it and then see where we can best aid the world with things like food, water, and medicine. Account for where the dollars go and try to get it in the hands of those in need. The idea that it finds its way into Bill Kristol’s hands or assorted causes someone like you finds value in, is a nightmare.

Of course not. I’m just highly skeptical that the drugged out South African and his army of high schoolers is going to find the actual waste.

See my above comment.

Nothing wrong with skepticism.

He’s an American citizen. Are you a xenophobe?

Watching that army of highschoolers has got to be humbling for a civil servant urban planner such as yourself. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a civil servant or urban planner. It’s the snotty attitude that sets you apart from them.

What is Trump’s plan to do so? What is the replacement for USAID, OSHA, and the other agencies he is tearing down?

The Atlantic is purposely missing the point. The "global-health ecosystem" won't be in need of repair. It will be in need of replacement with organizations that exist for the purpose of improving the health of people across the planet. Not re-establish some bureaucracy. Not furthering hidden goals and agendas.

Given how USAID was run as an agency virtually independent of any oversight or control by the executive branch its going to be fun to find out exactly who was giving this rogue agency its marching orders. Exposing these characters will be interesting and then we'll get to see "big fish" get fried. Many I expect are the most vocal critics of Trump's tear down of USAID. First thing they should be forced to do is surrender their personal assets and property to the taxpayers as the cost of plundering our tax payments.

Haha!

That's the way we've been doing thing forever. That's why nothing ever gets done.

Yeah, let's have a few more ZOOM MEETINGS with federal employees working from home, and ask them 'where the fat is' in their departmental budgets.

lol!

lol so is your contention we have no wasted money in our tax dollars?

No, it's that wasted money is fine because Trump is against it.

Some comments from X that point to USAID as "ground zero" for the funding of leftist causes.

“This is worse than 9/11 for Democrats. USAID is the primary vessel they use to achieve their political agenda. USAID is and always has been the primary source of funding for their influence peddling schemes and for their indirect sources of income”

“Based on the reactions from within the party it seems to me that dismantling USAID is Trump’s biggest political victory to date, it was his enemy’s golden goose

“Another likely solution for Democrats which they already use to reward VIPs is to use NGOs as an intermediary to direct funds where they want them to go” So basically USAID allocates funds for a certain initiative that looks reasonable. Democrat friendly NGO is contracted to carry out initiative. NGO #1 subcontracts “VIP” which is another NGO owned/operated by a political ally or Democrat politician. Eventually the funds reach the secret intended target and the original problem is not solved. This means they can continue to rinse and repeat this grift."

Easily debunked.

This is the problem with posting data like this. Any chud with an agenda can pick it and people who don’t know what it means will eat it up.

You've got a long four years of debunking ahead of you.

I’ll take this as your concession that you were unnecessarily angry and wrong.
