Free Agency Splash target should be DJ Reed

We can get Garrett and still sign DJ Reed, which I would love if we landed Reed.  Personally, I think Holland makes more sense as he will cost less IMO and still addresses our secondary, but would also love landing Reed.

 

Garretts cap hit is only $5M this year according to the articles I read, so it would allow us to be active in FA to some degree still as well.

I would love Holland but the projected contract for Holland is for $18-$20m a year where as Reed is projected to be around $14-$15m a year.

 

If you look at the passes Mahomes made, it was the quick passes against the corners Kair/Rasul that killed the Bills.   There was one TD that Damar was covering Worthy where he was too slow to make the play but for the most part the weakness were the corners getting beat.

 

We need corners that can press and provide tight coverage for 3 seconds to allow the D Line and blitzers to make a difference.

 

If your DB consistently gets beat within 2.25 seconds which was Mahomes average time to throw then it doesn’t matter if you have Myles Garrett or whoever.

 

Got to solve the other side opposite of Benford in a meaningful manner

Ah, I thought it would have been the inverse personally as CB's seem to get over paid in FA more than Safety's in general.  If that was the case, then yes, give me Reed over Holland as well.  

 

I agree with you on the secondary and would love to see us go from Douglas to Reed

Nope, he is a boundary corner. Despite being a shorter guy he has long arms and huge hands. Like freakish size on a guy that short. His arms are an inch longer than Kaiir Elam who is 3 inches taller.
