JMM Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago So I thought he was impressive in the first half of the season, several flash plays. Then he got hurt, then after he came back he pretty much was a healthy scratch. I was wondering what the story was with him. I'm hoping it was just the rookie wall. We desperately need to overhaul the D line and I wonder if he can be a part of that. Is he capable of playing next to Ed, or is he more like Ed in his physical profile and position? 1 Quote
streetkings01 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He has no choice but to be a part of it….he was a 3rd round pick. Our issue is the philosophy of our dline. We rely too much on a rotation so we have a bunch of fringe starters instead of trying to get elite impact players. If I’m Beane I’m throwing a picks at the Raiders for Maxx Crosby….we need an elite DE! Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Similar rookie story to Coleman.....a big off-season is needed for them both, and Bishop. Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago As the season went on, DC started to look more and more like the Meat Tenderizer... 1 Quote
Brand J Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago At least there aren’t any rookies at his position (or even other positions) selected immediately after that made a huge difference on their team. Quote
Charles Romes Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’d be happier if they invested significant draft capital in a quality starter ceiling 1-technique rather than a quality starter ceiling 3-technique. Quote
Logic Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Similar to Coleman, it seems he wasn't the same player when he came back from injury. The difference is that the Bills had added Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson at DT, and they were comfortable playing the returning Dewaune Smoot at DT on passing downs, too. So it became a situation where they simply didn't need to press a rookie who wasn't playing as well coming off of injury into duty over a trio of vets who were, in the moment, offering more. As others have already said: Coleman, Bishop, and Carter all need to have big offseasons and show that they can be legitimate contributors going forward. Quote
BuffaloBillies Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I believe in Carter. Saw some nasty in him I loved. Seems like a will-not-be-denied-success kind of guy to me. Come back ready to start next year. Quote

A single name if far too vague to post as a title and provides little insight into what specifically the post is talking about. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate.
