All I heard on the news was about inflation and no one ever once said it wasn't bad. This stuff is so easy to see through. That is just from a quick search. I know that it benefits the left to rewrite history, but they only started to acknowledge inflation in 2024. Will Trump be better? That remains to been seen, but he has Canada and Mexico negotiating for better terms. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/01/economy/inflation-good-bad-winners-losers/index.html https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2023/11/why-americans-feel-inflation-economy-are-much-worse-than-they-are/

Trump has each country agreeing to assist along the border and help stop the drugs, that is a win He didn’t do anything. This is a Canadian policy they already agreed to months ago.

Artful Dodger Posted February 4 Posted February 4 16 hours ago, B-Man said: I guess we can close this thread, the "point" of the tariffs is obvious now. If you're going to start a trade war, maybe extract something more meaningful than 10,000 troops on a 5500 mile border to deal with a fentanyl problem that isn't really much of a problem. During the last fiscal year, 43 pounds of fentanyl were seized on the Canadian border, which is 0.2% of total fentanyl seizures. Big whoop. Other than to stir things up which Trump likes to do, there just really isn't much point to this.

So in other words, all the change is from Trump. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canada-pledges-beefed-up-border-immigration-restrictions-appease-trump-2024-12-17/

I suspect these tariffs on Mexico and Canada, and those on China, are elements of some larger strategic plan for a modern version of the Monroe Doctrine with a goal of driving Chinese influence out of the Western Hemisphere. Discussions already with Panama about the canal would seem to point to this goal. 1

I heard bitching about gas prices going up not long after Biden got in office. Who is trying to rewrite history? Canada and Mexico negotiated for what they already pledged.

Exactly, and I'll bet you that the renewed focus of US/CAN/MEX targeting the cartels will focus on those with ties adversarial intelligence agencies. 1
