I currently have a gifted kid who has 45 absences in the first 100 days, all his intellect won't matter if he can't understand the question. As for second part- your belief that the federal government was doing almost anything effectively is where we disagree. My wife had to deal with this in 2010 when the salaries were frozen for 4 years due to the recession. I was not a teacher at the time but it did effect me. Part of the teacher problem was the union leader was crook who used all the money to enrich his friends instead of fighting for better pay. It took years to get rid of all of them because the idiots that are teacher loved them for fighting "the man".
