The Frankish Reich Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I just got a look at one of the Blackhawk pilots. White guy (RIP). I don't know the race of the air traffic controller in the DCA tower, but sounds like a white standard American English male voice. DEI "may" have something to do with the horrible accident says President Trump. He cited all the disabilities one may have and still be eligible to serve as an air traffic controller. Hell, even dwarfism! When pressed about any connection to DEI, he says it's just "common sense." How so? He didn't even go to the classic fallback: "the focus on DEI caused the FAA to lose sight of it's critical mission." So no fair giving me that. Can any Trump supporter provide an explanation? Are they furiously looking for a black dwarf to be the fall guy? 3
BillsFanNC Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Sorry Finding. Nobody is awake to quote you it seems. 1
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly Posted January 31 Posted January 31 This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard by any president in the world. 1 3 1 2

The reports are that one person was doing the work of two the other night. Could the emphasis/preference placed on hiring people with certain characteristics to the exclusion of others have played a role? There’s no way we could ever know. 🤦🏻🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♂️ Hard to believe your party effed up this badly isn’t it? (wait for it….) TWICE!!
aristocrat Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Understaffed. Based on this class action perhaps they wouldn't have had to do double duty? 1
4th&long Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Trump is the great divider. No one has proof that dei played any roll in this. He lied about the waster in Cali, he lied about this. 2 weeks in 2 tragedys 2 lies. His base lives him. They are all human sh it!
Orlando Buffalo Posted January 31 Posted January 31 The FAA went to diversity guidelines in 2013/2014 and basically slowed hiring white men at that point. That decision led to the understaffing of flight towers, which the whole country is dealing with right now. In 2005 at Orlando Airport we always had at least one additional person available, because an ATC does more than just the radio part of job at times. If someone got sick that person would jump on to the radio and things would go as normal. If you disagree with the hiring practices look up the old standards vs the Obama standards for the FAA

Do you think a white man would do the job behest than a black man in a wheel chair? Hiring practices may very well be a good conversation to have. At some point. And this best and brightest stuff is bull *****. Every human has a brain and can be taught or trained to do anything. I played high school football with a dude who went on to become a doctor. Was he smarter than me? No, I sat in class with him. He just worked his ass off. As an educator I hope you never tell anyone they can't do something! 1

You do have to include it in the things to consider. The NTSB looks at EVERYTHING. They will pour over every square inch od the help ad the plane. They will look into the history of all pilots and examine all the recordings and paperwork from the tower.

I'm sure they will look at everything no doubt. Did it have anything to do with it? Trump has no idea. For Trump to say it like it is fact? Divider in chief. Idiot in chief. Covering his tracks for throwing the govt, including the faa, into chaos. I can say it was trumps fault just like he can say it was dei. Prove me wrong!

Are you suggesting there is no link between genetics and intellectual capability? And that all it takes to build intellectual capabilities is hard work. I believe that's no more true than it is to say I can transform my 5 foot 11 inch, 190 ib body into that of a professional NFL player simply through working out hard and training. You're born with the potential to be fast, big, and strong and the effort you make will develop your body to reach that potential, but I won't increase my height by 4 r 5 inches and will never exceed my genetic potential no matter how hard I train. Just like you're born with physical potential, you're also born with intellectual potential. You can work your ass off in school, at a trade, or a profession to reach that potential but no matter how much you do you'll never exceed the intellectual potential level your genetics have per-determined. While there's overwhelming recognition for the idea of physical potential there's more resistance to the idea of intellectual potential for obvious social reasons. But its all a bell curve thing. That's why there are so few geniuses out there. They're born, not made.

Truly your racism being shown on such an important conversation is crazy. You actually believe that having a black man is the important part, you think the wheelchair is important, I just want competent people and lots of them. I have worked for two separate "DEI" hires, people chosen for their skin and/or gender and both were disasters. I have worked under every race and more women than men, the majority were good to great but when you pick someone due to the things that don't matter to successfully doing the job, failure is what you get. 1

No really, at least you came up with something tangentially tied to what actually happened, unlike Trump himself.

And NONE of that had anything to do with this airline diaster and for this president to suggest that, is beyond stupid, ignorant and divisive. Sorry about your situation but that's not every Americans situation and definitely not the situation here with this disaster. Point blank. Edited Friday at 03:37 PM by Ghost_002!

wnyguy Posted Friday at 03:58 PM Posted Friday at 03:58 PM It almost seems like Frankish and others like him get a sense of joy when there is a national tragedy? I don't understand it really. 1
