Another Fan Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I’ll certainly say for someone that doesn’t care much for college hoops he definitely makes it interesting to follow for me. I have a lot of respect for how hard he worked in a lot of aspects of his life…. He’s been very open about depression and anxiety troubles he’s had. On the other hand I think he’s really taken it too far this year with beating up the refs. So I can see why people don’t like him. Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Stop showing us Greendale's Dean Pelton. 🤨 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I think he is obnoxious, and needs to cool it with the refs. 1 1 Quote

I know he had a lot of anxiety/depression issues back in the 90's when it wasn't really as socially acceptable to speak about as it is today that he had to work through. Gave up playing college b-ball at Seton Hall for a year. Stuff that still prob plagues him today. That being said he more often that not now comes off as obnoxious to me vs passionate. 2 hours ago, Augie said: I hate him when he plays Xavier! 😊 they had a good win against Uconn last week I think. Our big man tore his ACL right before the season, then our leading scorer missed a stretch of games. Stuff happens. 🤷♂️ Bills fans get that. 1 Quote

And there is no question he is a great coach. he just cannot treat the officials as he does. It is totally disrespectful to them and the game, and it is entirely ineffective. If anything, the refs probably now are harsher on his team because they hate him so much. he goes way past even a Bobby Knight line with the officials, and he needs to set a better example, especially to youth bball players out there. what is bonkers to me about Hurley and other similar head coaches is that they preach players being coachable and respecting coaches and respecting authority. Yet, they are entirely disrespectful of the refs who are in authority. Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 4 Posted February 4 He’s a great coach and recruiter, but he’s a big floppin’ douche bag, IMHO. He also has a very punchable face. 1 Quote

Another Fan Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 UConn got it handed to them yesterday. I mean he still has great accomplishments it’s just how many kids now are going to out up with his very rough around the edges style of coaching? Especially with no real results. He can lead himself to burnout 1 Quote

If you read I said he had great accomplishments in my last post. what I meant was if UConn keeps having disappointing seasons how many kids are going to want to play for coach Hurley. Especially with his style of coaching Quote
