Chris Jones, Trent McDuffie, Xavier Worthy, Leo Chenal, Nick Bolton, George Karlaftis etc., all "drafted low"

Bunch of guys on that list the Bills passed on as well.

I had to remind myself that we win 11+ games every year.

We were just in the AFCCG (again) and lost by 3 on the road against a dynasty that is beating everyone else too. Yet WE SUCK!

excuse machine in overdrive today.  There is a thing called trading-up.  Also, there are elite players there, just ask any team with an elite QB.  KC drafted Humphries (likely HOF player) in the 2nd.  Bean took Basham.  TJ Watt, late first round pick.  Gee, oh, Lamar Jackson, late first round pick.

In 2022 after we took Elam, the next three picks were pro bowl players: OT Tyler Smith, C Tyler Lindenbaum, and DE Jermaine Johnson II.

To that end though, Milano was a 5th, Bernard and Williams were 3rds, Cook was a second, Benford was a 6th, Shakir was a 4th or 5th. Not like we haven’t gotten good talent late too.

I think he needs to go. Nothing but excuses. Von Miller is a hero because he took a few less dollars. Isn’t that great guys? He’s even using age as an excuse for Coleman. Said Kincaid is too small and weak. Ok, why did you draft him then?

Maybe this should be his last draft.

Expect Damar back based on the huge praise Beane just gave him. How fantastic....

I did not conclude that.  He said Damar was a good story and he's proud of him...then he mentioned the business side of things and that Damar has reached free agency.

Didn't get that sense at all.... Actually the opposite. Seems like you are looking for reasons to be angry?

I am so tired of the "run it back, focus on re-signing our own at the cost of getting quality FAs, promote from within" mentality of this franchise.

We tried that. It didn't work. Maybe time to try something else.

These guys are so afraid of any kind of change.

Didn't they try something else? They signed Von Miller. They traded for Amari Cooper. Beane says these things, but there is a competitive advantage to keeping your plans under wraps. I hope he sees that he needs to bring in another elite player this year somehow, someway. An elite pass rusher. Just get it done whatever it takes.

He used age as an excuse for Edmunds for about 5 years too. He should be gone.

Free agents aren't a roster building strategy.

You're not getting to the Super Bowl in the AFC if you bust on all your first round picks and get some solid but not great guys later on. You have to get game changers at some point.

I mean it's tough not to complain when the GM has spent 45 minutes making excuses and whining about injuries while defending his poor draft record.

This is a fair point but the difference between KC and us is their guys make plays in the postseason and are available.

Who on your list shows up when it matters?  Milano, Cook and Shakir.   Benford keeps missing the biggest game of they year..every year.  Bernard is good but looked like a JAG in that last game.  Williams, who knows yet.

Chris Jones and George Karlaftis were noticeable.  Ed Oliver and Greg Rousseau.. to his credit, Oliver was.. Rousseau, again, not so much.

If we eliminate the officiating aspect, the games truly do come down to their coaching staff vs ours and their FO vs ours.

We're the only team in the league that can cancel out their QB advantage in the playoffs, and as such, need to be held to a higher standard.

"I dont see the need to tear it down" - Beane.

Sure, Brandon...the Big Nickel "BBDB" defense that failed five times in the playoffs? Roll it out as-is again.

This presser is starting to get me angry......

Maybe because we don't have a big Nickel, maybe we get one if sign Chinn in the offseason.

Yes, but this is part of the issue. The Bills are pretty good picking players in the lower rounds, but poor from the top, Josh aside.

Broader point...I DETEST the injury excuse. Injuries and players being out...and overcoming that...are literally a foundational part of the game.  You would think the GM of an organization that LOST A SUPER BOWL TO A BACKUP QB would realize that.

Beane lost a Super Bowl to a backup QB?

The only whining I'm hearing is on this message board.

Some of the injuries I'm hearing about are news to me.

I think they need a shake up.  If Beane isn't lying and our cap space is to be set aside for extensions of the same guys who have been here 3-4 years and haven't made a difference in the postseason, well... I don't necessarily agree with you, but fear this is a potential outcome.

And obviously don't want any of it to happen, I want that ultimate prize. It's just my gut feeling at this time.

Agreed--we do get good talent late.  That's when you can find the very good players you need to have around elite guys.  The problem is we routinely miss on "elite" in 1st and 2nd round.
