I was attempting to limit the amount of good things I was saying about that team and forgot. Not to mention he drafted a HOF TE his first year there and then his generational qb a few years later has the luxury of walking right into that scenario. Their entire organization is benefitting from a mental burnout in Philly. 1 Quote

Try going back to the 17-year drought. If you think going to the brink against the best team in the league sucks, try never being there. 1 2 Quote

After the stretch of Tennessee and Seattle I was ready to take a victory lap over my support of him because it looked like he had really started to figure things out. But he ended the season playing worse than he did in game one. Hopefully we can chalk it up to the injury but it's concerning to see a player regress that much and never turn their trend line back around. Even more concerning when you have a QB throwing you the ball who can turn a guy like Gabe Davis into a pro bowler w/ a $40 million dollar contract. Quote

THAT DIDNT WORK THREE TIMES. How about being UP TEN with three minutes to go? Christ. [/rant] Seriously though...I get the sentiment but thats such a passive, defensive postion. Work to NOT be "down 3 with 3 to go" on the road in the loudest stadium in the NFL, facing a "GOAT" candidate with the best coaching staff in the NFL with one of the best HCs EVER. Well of course it’d be great to be up double digits at the end of any game. His point is even to get to the point of AFCCG game with a chance to win at the end, there’s a lot of hard work and even luck to get to that point. If Mark Andrews doesn’t implode the week prior, we might not even make the AFCCG. I think most teams, even the Chiefs, would sign up to be in the scenario down 3 with the 3 to go and the ball at the start of the season. Quote

I will give you that Kelce and Jones are outstanding, McDuffie is right up there too, but Bills' list has 2 All Pros (Johnson, Milano), pro bowl (Dawkins), pro bowl caliber (Brown, Cook, Benford) and the rest are above average starters. And we will see about Bishop, Dorian Williams. Quote

He drives me crazy with “no big free agent signings again”. It’s better to go all in and win one championship than stay the course and waste Josh Allen’s years as your QB. Their “process” doesn’t win championships, 8 years of winning none has proven that. Time to adopt a new philosophy and try and win instead of staying stubborn in your process. 2 Quote

Bit off-topic but speaking of Dawson Knox, did we scout him before we drafted him? Just saying because two of his college teammates drafted the same year were AJ Brown and DJ Metcalf. Did any of our scouts say, “hey, these two other guys are pretty good. Maybe we should draft one if they are available in the second round.” 1 Quote

OC Tre Smith, Pro Bowler, taken in the 5th round in 2021. C Creed Humphrey, Pro-Bowler also in 2021. (KC needed to fix its OL, they did. We needed to fix our DL, and our GM reached for picks in the 1st and 2nd, KC took BPA and solved their issues). Oh, KC also selected their D captain Nick Bolton in 2021. Should I continue, okay: Trent McDuffie in 2022; WR Rasheed Rice, 2nd round. Also worth noting that after KC traded who was perhaps the top WR in the NFL (Tyreek Hill), rather than make excuses, they went out and won the SB. Fans like you would apparently are happy just to make the playoffs after losing a top talent. 3. This KC is All-Time great is another BS excuse. You know why they are so freaking great, they run into us in the playoffs, who are outcoached and somewhat outmanned due to McD/Bean. Good is the enemy of great. You're happy with "good." PRO BOWL?! You're seriously citing the PRO BOWL? Russell Wilson was named to the Pro Bowl this year - what a credible way to evaluate his performance. You're flat-out wrong about Buffalo. I can name players too! CB Taron Johnson—All-Pro—taken in the 4th round in 2019. "D captain Nick Bolton"? How about D captain Terrel Bernard, whom Buffalo found in the 3rd round in 2022. Spencer Brown (3rd round), James Cook (2nd round) and Christian Benford (6th round). Should I continue? Because I can. Now, let's not even start on Trey Smith. He was a consensus top-3 round talent, but teams took him off their boards due to medical concerns. Want to tell me how medical evaluations work in pro sports? Be my guest—I promise one of us actually knows, and the other doesn’t. You want to call Greg Rousseau a reach at 30? Cool. What a wild way to evaluate someone who was a top-10 edge rusher in 2024. Speaking of "reaches," how’s Kingsley Suamataia doing? Didn’t he get benched for three different LT options? What’s Felix Anudike-Uzomah up to? His first two seasons are worse than Boogie Basham’s. But go ahead, hype up drafting Skyy Moore and Clyde Edwards-Helaire while you're at it. Fans like me can think rationally instead of spinning narratives to cope with not being Kansas City. Newsflash: I want to win too. I actually agree—good is the enemy of great. But that’s not the issue here. The real conversation? All-Time is the enemy of great. That’s the part you just can’t comprehend. Edited 10 hours ago by JGMcD2 1 Quote

It’s just a mic drop end of story. Why can the raiders stop them? They are horrendous. Why is it only McDermotts defense that can’t ever make the chiefs punt? They also passed on Terry McLaurin that year. They also passed on Maxx Crosby despite having two third rounders. They also took a LB who never played a down for them, and a safety who ran a 4.7. One of the many issues with this regime is they draft for need and plug holes instead of taking BPA. Edited 10 hours ago by MrEpsYtown 1 Quote

JP51 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) I am reserving judgement here... the contrary take... Beane for the most part defending his players and coaching staff in front of the media at a very difficult time. He did in a passive aggressive way refer to those he was less than pleased with without calling it out... Every year for the past several all we hear is we are not going to be big players in FA. Every year we sign a surprise player... not this year until he traded for Coop. (that is another story). I simply dont think he wants to send his team and coaching staff away with a message that there is going to be an overhaul of the team and or the coaching staff... at a time when they just got handed another devastating loss... As a manager of people I understand this take... I aint gonna call you out on email... but we will discuss productively what needs to happen. I also dont get a sense that Pegula is saying I am not spending any more... I think if he can find a way to improve he will spend... this is just my take... that being said, I was not overly impressed that he had and relayed an understanding of what really was the issue and then committed to fix it... this may just be his way, maybe he sees a competitive advantage in not playing those cards right now... I do not like his top end drafts, he has not hit on a superstar up top save Allen and Cook... I did not hear anything regarding what he intends to do differently... color me very disappointed... Over all, I am going to reserve judgement on the improving the team via Free Agency piece until we actually get there. The draft piece I am less than excited about if he is not going to bring in some other talent evaluation eyes... he will just have to get lucky. I am not doom and gloom, but I certainly dont feel better after this that is for sure.. I will however wait to see what he does with the team in the off season to judge. I think firing him now would be a mistake... as someone who lived thru the firing Polian years... lastly, even if we removed them both (I think they are a package McD and Beane) do you really trust Terry to be able to hire a duo at this level.... please refer to the Sabres.. JP out... flame away. Edited 10 hours ago by JP51 2 Quote

Coach Tuesday Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Whole lotta rock-kickers in this thread. Nothing about this PC was novel or surprising; a chatbot could've written it. It was fully on-brand with his usual post-season milquetoast approach. There is no cause for any increased outrage as a result of this - this is Beane being Beane. My takeaways: - Keon did not push himself hard enough through and on the back-end of his injury, they are disappointed with how he ended the season and told him so, and he has a big offseason ahead. We all saw this ourselves. - Kincaid needs to develop his play strength. He's a tough guy in terms of pain management but soft at the catch point and block point and they want more from him. - Von is Gone. - Hamlin probably gone too if they can upgrade. - Corner will be a major offseason focus. Needs to hit the JUGS machine too. 34 minutes ago, TrentEdwardsCheckDownOn4th said: Never forget... pretty much everyone on this board wanted to trade up and get Brian thomas Jr, we would have only needed to trade up about 5 spots - the trade equivalent of a 3rd round pick or basically what we traded for Cooper. So instead of cooper+coleman , we could have BT Jr. But we didn’t have a 3rd, unless you wanted to give away #28 and next year’s 2nd to move up 5 spots. 1 Quote
