McDermott has always been consistent that their only goal is the Super Bowl.

 

He has never wavered that the season is a failure without a SB.

The TRUTH is that it is widely accepted around the entire NFL world that the Buffalo Bills organization and its culture is one of the best ones in the NFL, if not in ALL of pro sports in the US. Ok, good for you.  The point remains — Brandon Beane isn’t telling you all during his end of season PC what he plans to do, and getting upset or frustrated about it is ridiculous.

Beane and McD discussed Kincaids "strength" needing improvement. Hit the weight room son. 

Also both echoed Keon was better before the injury.

I would be one of those “certain posters”.  Of course, the ultimate goal is a championship, but that doesn’t mean that they were failures.  It’s not binary.

McD has fired/parted ways with a lot of coaches at this point. He cant keep doing it.

I'm thankful that McD doesn't agree with you. It makes me proud of him.

Good news is there are zero excuses next year. A lot of bad cap space is coming off the books, Allen will likely be extended to lower his cap hit, all the coaches are back, the core of the roster will all be back, and we have a lot of draft picks. This was a rebuild/reload year. Okay, fine. Next year has to be the one then.

Which posters are claiming this year was an absolute success?  Every one of those posters I’m sure would say the SB is their goal.  There can be nuance in the idea of success.

 

sean has always preached a growth mindset.  His goal is the SB, but he doesn’t shy away from growth where the result may not have been the SB.

This years low light real contains the NFL's first kickoff return for a TD under the new rules and TWO converted fake punts against us in addition to another smattering of big plays allowed.

Well I'm done ranting and being negative. Time to regroup. McDermott isn't going anywhere and it is what it is. 

 

Going to choose to be hopeful. 

 

I remember saying to my father before the season started that this team and it's youth reminded me a bit of the 1988 team. 

 

This offense is ahead of schedule but is still missing a lofton similar to that team. 

 

I do think that the 88 team had a better defense. So we need 2-3 major pieces there. I really like the youth and talents of Rousseau, Oliver, Solomon, Bernard, Williams, Andressen , Ulofoshio, Benford, Bishop, Rapp, Johnson, Hardy and Ingram. I'm hoping Elam can turn the corner, still a very young player. 

 

The team chemistry is better than the bickering bills.

 

We had a very tough division win similar to beating the oilers in 88 and then lost the AFC championship on the road and still didn't look quite ready for the moment. Somewhat similar to the 88 AFC championship on the road vs Cincinnati 

 

Hopefully we can get to multiple super bowls in the coming years like that team. In that era Denver with Elway and Marino were going before we went.

 

So lots of similarities and Allen is the same age as Kelly at that time. Two young dynamic rbs , young Shakir like Reed, Coleman like Beebe etc.

 

We need a Kirby Jackson and we need a great young pass rusher 

 

Then we need a lofton
