We need a pass rush. Until we get one, we have no chance at stopping Mahomes in the playoffs. I don't care about salary cap and I don't care much about draft picks. Do what it takes to get Garrett out of Cleveland or at the very least Crosby out of Vegas. Crosby, I think will cost a little less but we have to take a swing. On top of that, Khalil Mack is a free agent. Again, I don't care about Salary cap and I don't trust finding the right player in the draft. We have already tried this numerous times and it isn't working. I would feel better with a known commodity. I know it's a long shot that we sign both. But if I'm Beane, I'm taking a swing on both. If we give up 2 first round picks for Garrett, I don't care. If there is a player to do that for, he is the guy. Crosby would probably be at least 1 first round pick. Make the moves, get to Mahomes and that's it. We will never get past them if we don't

I'm not giving up two 1st Round Picks and the insane amount of cap it would cost, preventing us from spending money on other positions, for just one Defensive End.

As @HappyDays has said, the key to overcoming the Chiefs en route to a Super Bowl bid is to load up the Offense with firepower and outscore them. Take the Defense out of it. We could have the best Defense ever and Mahomes is still going to go Michael Jordan when it comes to the Championship game. For what it would take to get Garrett (or at least what you're proposing), you're costing yourself multiple 1st Round talents and multiple players you could sign with the massive amount of cap space he'll take up - for 1 player on Defense that Andy Reid will scheme around and Championship Patrick Mahomes will still find a way to put up points on.

This isn't to say completely neglect the Defensive End position. But you can sign a guy like Khalil Mack or Josh Sweat to go along with Greg Rousseau, keep those Draft Picks and have much more money that can both be used on Offense than it would to put Garrett under contract, and field a very similar result. Myles Garrett is a great player. But he's not going to impact the game as well as having a DK Metcalf, Tee Higgins, Deebo Samuel, or Chris Godwin for Josh to throw to will. If i'm delegating multiple picks and a large amount of cap space to someone this offseason - that's where i'd be leaning first.

What are you confused about? The chiefs scored 30 points 0 times this year. Stops as in stops their offense from scoring. What I’m saying is in English

Thanks for clarifying what you meant by "stopping KC." "Stopping" is often used to mean hindering or preventing progress, like not letting them advance past the Bills.

But of course, anyone who speaks English totally got it, right? 😅

Usually that word would be beating. I mean I have never once heard someone say you stopped a team when you won a game. In other news, the Sabres stopped the bruins last night. Yeah that’s common

I think this is a great idea. Go ahead and mortgage draft picks. Trade and get good players who want to win now, instead of letting their careers pass them by.

I don't know if the Bills will do this, but it's a good idea.

I’d easily package a 2nd rounder and 4th rounder for Simmons. He’s 27 yrs old and next to Oliver, Groot and Smoot would be a very formidable DL. Then you can focus on the secondary in FA and the draft.

Don’t know if that would get it done but we can’t hope a draft pick at 30 is gonna make an immediate impact on the DL.

Why?  Chris Jones was a 2nd rd pick.  He wasn’t an all-pro as a rookie but he made an immediate impact.

Admittedly a DE/edge drafted 30th maybe a rotational player year one, but considering our struggles to get to the QB, have a good rotational player would be an immediate upgrade.

But Wait! We have a dominant 4 man front!

This all sounds good to me. If we have to trade our first round pick to get someone I would do it.

The 30th pick is basically a high 2nd with the 5th year option. I wouldn't miss it.

Beane literally said in the press conference "he doesn't plan on making any major moves in FA". He said that this offseason also and followed through on that so I have no reason to believe he would go against that. Maybe Khalil Mack would be considered a lesser move with his age but I can still see him getting 8-10M even for 1 year but maybe I'm off. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/brandon-beane-bills-surprising-plans-nfl-free-agency-offseason-2025/

He didn't say anything about trades though so I'd think he almost has to go at 1 of those big fish!

The QBs in the modern day offense get rid of the ball to fast. Expecting guys to get home isn’t realistic. Truly, you need to blitz. A lot. That’s the answer. Get up tight on WRs when the ball comes out fast and confuse them with blitzes. You are NOT going to get there with 4. It’s not 1975. The Qb is getting rid of the ball in 2 sec. That’s why this defense sucks. The guy is stuck in a different era. Those pass rushers will be neutralized. You need to send pressure and confuse the QB. The scheme Is the problem

That’s exactly what Buffalo has done this season.  They blitzed Lamar almost 50% of the time.   You make it sound like the played the same defense without mixing things up.

They’ve also gotten burned because the blitzes don’t always get home and it relies more on man coverage with corners who play zone defense best.

As far as the base scheme, it works fine as long as you can get pressure with the front four.  They were excellent at the start of the 2022 when Von was fresh and in the 2023 season when DaQuan Jones was tearing it up.

either way your pass rush has to work with the coverage.  I think the lack of talent this season affected both.  Not the scheme

That’s true but it really doesn’t happen that often and it took him about 2 years to really play at a high level.  So to think that they can fill their lack of production with one rookie draft pick probably isn’t very likely.
