Aside from wide right, 13 seconds is the closest thing the Bills have to a Super Bowl win because I guarantee you if the Bills win that game after Josh played the way he played there wasn’t an NFL team assembled that was going to stop this team. Every year that ends in a tragic loss during Allen’s tenure will forever go back to 13 seconds. That was the Super Bowl that should have been. Not like there were two more games to play or anything. That's of course forgetting that KC beat us, who was beaten by Cincinnati, who was beaten by the Rams. It's a nice story we tell ourselves, but in reality we were the 5th or 6th best team that postseason. Quote
JohnNord Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) People need to watch this video. The crux of the argument is that is comes down to high-level talent. The Bills roster is solid but it’s missing those impact players needed to win a championship. Brandon Beane needs to build the top of the roster better. A few quotes in the event that you don’t: ”The Bills don’t have a coaching problem, they have a Chiefs problem.” ”Coaches set the floor. Players set the ceiling” ”Depth can win you divisions, but it’s not going to win you a championship.” Edited 17 hours ago by JohnNord 1 Quote
Dan Darragh Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I routinely get flamed when I write this, but this thread proves my point: Until McD comes clean about the coaching meltdown in the 0:13 game, the franchise will never get over it. Quote

I've been a McDermott critic since 13 seconds and I would have fired him last year in favor of Harbaugh or Belichick. Now there is no one better to get. Run it back one more year. 2025 is mostly on Beane. He has to find a #1 WR and fix the DL and secondary. He will have the cap space and draft capital to do both. You forgot to mention Taylor Swift. Jimmy Harris 69 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 10 hours ago, T.E. said: The 13 Seconds game was probably the most cowardly coaching moment in NFL history. He wanted the ball kicked out of the endzone because he was terrified of a miracle return. He allowed Mahomes to hit Kelce over the middle for two uncontested big gains in exchange for not giving up a big play to Hill. He conceded the long FG attempt and was just praying that Butker missed it. The fact that some people watched that and though to themselves "There's a guy who win a Super Bowl if we give him enough chances" is beyond me. It's never going to happen, folks. The saddest true story in bills history. He and Frasier stole the Super Bowl from that team. No one will convince me the kicker didn’t do what he was told. No guts, no true belief in his defense to play aggressively and stop KC for even 9 seconds. Wow. In most respects Sean hasn't changed. He is Mr. Play it safe. He has a great quarterback so it gets him a playoff win or two a year. He will never win a Super Bowl. The Spagnola blitz Sunday on 4th down risked a huge gain, but he was going for the W. McDermott was too scared to play anything but vanilla man coverage against the best team in the league. Hello? So here we are again. If you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you’ve always got. 2 Quote

LOL first off Brady is not a rookie OC. He had over year of experience in Carolina. Second who did you want him to hire? A retread like Todd Downing or Alex Van Pelt? Quote

Just Jack Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Did someone say 13 seconds? I'm just gonna keep posting this anytime someone brings up that game.... Several factors contributed to the loss 1) 13 seconds 2) they had all three time outs left 3) they had Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill 4) some Bills players and coaches were already celebrating on the sidelines like the game was over 5) they only needed a FG to tie and go to OT. The window to fire him was last year when they could have chosen Johnson, Harbaugh, or Belichick. Allen already said he doesn't want to install a new offense. No way you fire McD just to promote Brady. Who would you hire? McCarthy? Kingsbury? Like I said this next year is more about Beane and Brady. Beane has got to fix the defensive line. Quote

They 100% choked. I don't care that they had 3 timeouts. I don't care that they had Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. 13 seconds left and the Chiefs have it at their own 25. The Bills 100% lost the game. The Chiefs did 0% to win it. Quote
zow2 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago There was one national show yesterday linking 0-4 in Super Bowls and 0-4 vs Kansas City in this Josh Allen era. So they said the Bills are essentially 0 for 8 in huge games which is a giant kick in the nuts for Bills fans. Man that does hurt to hear it presented that way. Quote

Your analysis of the four SB’s is spot on. Agree 100%. Realistically, how could you fire a HC that has taken his team to four straight SB’s. PR nightmare. On the other hand, they fired a GM who had put together a team that had made three straight SB’s. Even though Washington and Dallas had stronger teams, our performance in those three games was pathetic. Eleven (11!) turnovers in one game! Just thought after the four that Levy would never win a Super Bowl with the Bills. Quote
