JMM Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I would think that this will happen. I'm going to assume he will end up with top 3 money overall. I also think though he will make it as cap friendly as possible to help the team, with a ton of it up front in bonus. For the capologists out there what would the implications of this be? How much cap flexibility could it open up for Beane? Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago It’ll lower his cap hit by a lot for a couple years. My guess is he’ll be the highest paid player in NFL history. 8 years $500 million. 3 1 2 Quote
Beast Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) He’ll be #1 when it comes to money per yearly average….until the next QB contract is signed. Edited 2 hours ago by Beast 1 Quote
ProcessTruster Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yes you can bet Beane will do this. If I have my capology correct, if, say, they tore up the current deal and he signed (to keep the numbers simple) a 5 year, $200m deal , that's 40m per year. So, if the first years 40 is simply paid in one shot on day 1, that 40m is divided by 5 = $8m spread out per year against cap So his cap hits over the 5 years are as follows: $8m, $48m, $48m, $48m, $48m Lets say his cap hit next season if they do nothing is $35m (I don't have Sportrac in front of me), then the team created $35m minus $8m or $28m of cap space for 2025 Quote

jamiezzz Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago IMO, I think Josh needs to have a long and hard conversation with Sean, Beane, and Pegula. If things don't change with Sean, he deserves an out. I don't want him ever to leave, but he deserves better. I would prefer an offensive coach. Again, just stating my opinion. 4 2 1 1 1 1 1 2 Quote

He’s getting more than Herbert, Tua, Lawrence and Love. He should. The only saving grace is those guys above all have contracts in the same range as Joe Burrow, who is clearly above them in talent. Then you revert back to the Dak contract. If he’s on $60m anything less for Josh is unfair lol 1 Quote

They dump the coaching staff before they let Josh walk though. If anything it comes down to 3 years of franchise tagging him before he ever walks via a trade for the haul of picks you’d get not matching the offer/s. If that ever happened I don’t think even for Terry keeping the team in Buffalo that you could forgive them choosing anyone or anything over Josh. Quote
Draconator Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) It wouldn't surprise me if Josh is the first Billion contract professional athlete. Edited 16 hours ago by Draconator Quote
Bills!Win! Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Maybe Allen takes a team friendly deal since he has a good income coming from his future Mrs Allen? Just like Brady did in New England Quote

He has an out after 2025. It's still a kick in the crotch salary cap wise, but we save a few if he is gone. Quote

The City of Buffalo embraced Josh Allen and his family He's literally became a Buffalonian, he deserves all the love the region gives him He'll never be the king of San Francisco or Los Angeles... But he's the role model to hundreds of thousands of kids across Western New York Not to mention the bills did help develop Josh Allen We deserve Josh and he deserves all the love the city gives him Quote
BarleyNY Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Allen’s contract is one of the most intriguing aspects of this offseason for me. He got $60M in cash for 2024, but is only set to get $14.5M in 2025. There are also some escalators/bonuses. Still, that’s very light for a QB of his stature. It’ll be interesting… Quote

Josh's wife-to-be is an actress. Her career might cause them to move west to LA. Josh might then sign with the Rams. Stafford is 36. Note: this is all speculation. I pray it does not come to pass. Jerome007 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Man, I looooooove Josh. But since there is this thing called salary cap, nope, I don't want him to break the bank here. He's already set for life when it comes to money. At this stage, the bigger contract is just an ego thing. I want him - and the BILLS - to win it all. A huge salary with no help on the roster... how does that sound? Quote

Yeah it's 100% all speculation lol Josh Allen was adamant since college his goal is to play his entire career with one franchise Since getting here all he has said is he dreams of winning a super bowl and retiring a bill He's either a liar or sincere And if he leaves all his Goodwill in Buffalo is forever gone he will never be on the wall of fame he will never be mentioned again His upbringing tells me he's not willing to do that Quote
