James Cook's value with all the things working against him (RB, last year of his deal, public angling for a top dollar contract for position, and being traded in a year of a good RB class) is probably topping out at a mid-4th (if we're lucky) - which is worth about 25 points.

The pick Dallas holds that might be interesting to the Bills is #76. Your valuation on Cook probably has a floor of whatever his potential comp pick would be if the Bills do let him hit the market in '26, so yeah a 4th. If Dallas is desperate for a RB then 109 + Cook for 76 is probably closest to that ballpark. They downgrade a 3rd to an early 4th for a year of prime Cook and the prospect of extending him or recouping a 4th or 5th comp. Doesn't really help the Bills much in a window year unless they draft someone to take up that backfield slack, but #76 can definitely yield something good...

For the first time in a long time I'm against the Bills entertaining a WR on Days 1-2. Where would they play him? Shakir in the slot and Palmer at boundary are set. Then there's Samuel and Coleman as roster locks. This is the draft to get a traits guy later. Too many people are smart to Donte Thornton from Tennessee, I think someone takes a flyer on Day 2... my combine crush is Isaac Teslaa, he'd certainly be worth a flyer in the middle of Day 3. Kind of a faster Hollins - big frame, willing blocker, great hands, clocks in the low 4.4's. Been deployed mainly as a big slot and needs coached up to play outside, but toolsy.

So we don’t have Amari cooper any longer, Coleman regressed and still can’t separate, Hollins is gone, we nabbed the Chargers part time 3rd option (worst WR corps in the league) BUT ya let’s pass on anymore WR help early because we resigned our best WR, Shakir, who although a GREAT slot WR, is still just a slot WR. More of the same Josh being Superman with nothing around him so we can waste early draft capital on defense that never shows up come playoff time anyways 🥳

Or let’s finally invest in Josh. Maybe last year you move up for an actual difference maker like Brian Thomas Jr (only a couple picks before us) or this year maybe try and nab Golden or heck maybe draft multiple WRs and let’s have some real investment in Josh’s future weapons

I want to invest in a WR5 who can play special teams and red zone packages this year and has upside to at least WR2. Teslaa is that guy for me. Check out the Senior Bowl, he was as much a red zone cheat code as a receiver as Josh Allen is as a QB. This is something the Bills could have used like oh I dunno, the last drive of the Rams game.

From NFL Draft Buzz with Random set to 1.  I like the DT pairing here.  Love getting Watts in the 2nd and Strong in the 4th.  Good LB depth.  Tuten can likely become a 3 down back if desired.  And some developmental WRs, TE, and OT/OG later on.  Thoughts?

Going with a WR is a hedge against Coleman not taking a step or Samuel not returning to form, and it's a smart one. I'm not saying I expect Coleman to not work out, but I'd certainly want a good contingency plan.

Outside of Shakir and Palmer who do you have that you're sure is reliable? Samuel had a pretty awful season last year. Coleman started out great, and then burned out before the end of the season.

But for as much as the WR room sucked and they all underperformed... the Bills sure scored a bunch of points didn't they? If Beane is going WR before Day 3 this year he'd better have a damn good idea that the guy has #1 upside and is decently likely to achieve it. Coleman was the swing taken early and whether you think that's the guy that the swing should have been taken on, that book isn't written yet. Using the top pick on the same position again? Not a fan.

I like first 3 a lot. Two new 3T DLs and a great CB.

i could see Sanker pushing for a game day spot. White the same as our speed deep threat. Hancock upgrading the backups at CB. Kiser just looks too good to pass up, and insurance against LB injury.  Lachey is versatile and along with Smith (returner) and Sauls infuse STs with more talent - have a chance to make the squad.

Ok, I’m thinking highly unlikely but that would be a boost to the d-line draft, lol.

I like it, but would rather not choose 2 edge rushers…at 132 maybe a speed WR?

I think Sanders injury slowed him too much. Even late in the draft….Unless the strategy is we IR him and have him push for a spot next year when Cook leaves..but to me that wastes a pick this year.
