if we don’t bring in anyone before the draft, there’s really no excuse for not taking 2 DL in the first 3 picks. Preferably both DT depending on who is available.

This regime has been repeatedly saying that they want a very strong and deep defensive front and that that's where they center most of their philosophy in roster construction.... well guess what here's your chance because this is probably the deepest defensive line class in maybe 10 years ! draft 4 to 5 of them...

If they don't then I'm going to be seriously pissed off on draft weekend

Yea I am not advocating waiting. I am just saying the Bills are not in a great spot in terms of value of talent at corner likely to be available at the spot. A trade down from #30 or a trade up in the second are my preferred options. But I wouldn't pass on a stud DL if one is there at #30 just to get a corner because of need.

If they take another position (say DT, DE or WR), what ammo do they really have to move up in the 2nd?  Packaging the earlier of their 2 2nds with the earlier of their 2 4ths only moves them up 7-8 spots in the 2nd.  If they do that it will be 70 picks between their othe 2nd and their next pick.  I’m not crazy about waiting 2+ rounds in a still decent part of the draft.

I think they are kinda stuck with the dearth of talent they currently have on their roster at CB.  It looks to me like they are going to have to reach for a CB at 30 or trade back from 30 and still take a CB, unless they are happy really getting only 3 players in the top 130.

I know there are a gazillion mock drafts in the media these days so probably everything conceivable will appear on at least one of them …

Ive seen a few out there having the Bills picking a LB in the first … like this one …

https://www.draftcountdown.com/2025-nfl-draft/2025-nfl-mock-draft-buffalo-bills-all-7-rounds/

Now .. I often say I can’t see the future… but I will be gobsmacked if they take a LB in the first to play behind Bernard, Milano and even Williams when there are a number of other issues on the team … anyone feel differently?

Also … what’s the thoughts on Royals in the  second ? A guy that is on my limited radar at the moment … does he last until the end of the second?

As to Royals. Short arms, small hands, not much bigger than Shakir. Rather take a swing at someone like Savion Williams.😉

Williams is another big slot. He doesn't separate outside. Would be like drafting Keon Coleman all over again. Royals is a better outside receiver.

You have to keep in mind that we have 10 Draft Picks and only about 7 roster spots right now. And that's not counting Hoecht and Ogunjobi. So probably 5 after week 7. And that's if we don't sign any rosterable players between now and the Draft. And some of those spots are depth where Day 3 selections are fine.

We can easily go a couple rounds between picks. And with a few of the major holes we have, we really need to hit on the best talent we can get (like CB and 1T). Trading up (maybe even more than once) is borderline necessary. Even if that means we don't pick for a couple rounds.

2/3rds of his snaps last year were wide. So.less than a 3rd of his snaps were in the slot. He has the speed and size to play wide.

He is another non-separator on the boundary. His best asset, exactly the same as Keon's last year, is his agility and power as a runner in the open field with the ball in hand. But you have got to get him free releases and manufacture him some touches (both much easier to do in the slot). If you are asking him to win downfield on the boundary with any regularity in the NFL it is going to be a tough ask.

That's what I'm screamin too. Grab another free agent CB, spend one of your 4th rounders on another cute little CB, but load up on MFers who will own that line of scrimmage on defense. That's the value this year and it's also what we need.

Well said. This may have to be a "quality over quantity" type draft. I'm cool with burning one the 4ths, a couple late rounders, and even a mid rounder or two next year to move up on "both" second rounders to ensure we get guys we really like instead of "oh well, he was the last player we had a second round grade on" picks. I don't wanna hear that s**t this year.

30. Kenneth Grant DT Michigan

56. Maxwell Hairston CB Kentucky

62. Andrew Mukuba S Texas

I think the Bills will have to move up a little from 56 to get the CB they want, but they have the ammunition to do it.

I made two trades down and then one trade up.  I went from 30 to 32 then to 34, picking picks 96 & 99.  I used lower picks to try to balance the trades and limit the number of picks I made to 7.  I then traded 56 and 99 to move up to 41.

Pick 34 - Derrick Harmon DT

Pick 41 - Maxwell Hairston CB

Pick 62 - JT Tuimoloau Edge

Pick 96 - Isaiah Bond WR

Pick 161 - Cobee Bryant CB

Pick 169 - Sebastian Castro S

Pick 177 - Jamon Dumas-Johnson LB

Added talent on all levels of the defense including a CB with great speed who could push to start.  Bond fell to 96 (which is unlikely to happen in a real draft but...) and had to be chosen.

Its a matter of whom they choose as DTs that will measure if i get po'd

They really need to get the hang of this by nailing down what they want to be up front. Cuz it aint workin' just yet McBeanes. I know what I want from them LOL

They gotta be thinking about going DT with that 1st pick.

Don't mind if they move around up or down to get the DT I want lol

But GA has a nice mock to do just that ^^
