That would be a pretty nice draft - I'm not super crazy about Landon Jackson in the first, but he isn't going to make it to the bottom of the 2nd and isn't too big of a stretch late in the first.

Grant was gone and when Philly offered the trade I was like cool. Last pick in the first, gives me the 5th yr option if it works out. Plus I think he has something (gut feeling). Call it a Maxx Crosby vibe. I like him! 😉😁

Edit add. Just remembered Bills met with Jackson at the combine as well. Plus # 40 should be available.🤗

A bit odd getting 2 DTs first, but I like this combo.  Morrison at 62 is great.  CJ West, the 3rd DT was too good a value there.  No DE until Rd. 5 is just how the draft fell, and clearly no WR is an issue, but none of value were around.  I wouldn't really love this draft due to lack of WR.

CJ West reminds me of Russell Maryland.

I wouldn't be shocked if we took him with one of our 2s. He extremely underrated

I'm not saying it should be like 2022 where we force a CB pick in Round 1 bc the need is so great. But the need is so great that I absolutely hate the idea of not taking one until Round 4.

The money and the market has dried up to a point that Dane Jackson seems to represent all I'm expecting us to do there. And as an Elam replacement, that's fine. But I absolutely don't want to be starting him (or Ingram for that matter). And if you're not taking a guy until Round 4 - that's way more likely the reality than not.

I like him a lot. One of our 2s is rich for my blood but not sure he lasts until our 4th.

Problem is end of the 2nd feels like a bit of a wilderness for corner. All the guys with the talent that justifies a pick there are likely gone. I feel like the options are

1. Take one at #30

2. Wait until the 4th

3. Move around the draft board - either up in the 2nd or back from the 2nd into the mid to late 3rd or up from the 4th into the late 3rd.

I suppose move back from #30 is an option too. Depends what is on the board for us there.

If the value isn't there at 30, you go to another position of need that does have value.

If there's a fear that by 56 or 62 the value also won't be there at CB - you move up from one of those spots.

I know Douglas was bad last season. But we don't even have him and you want an upgrade from that spot last season. Filling that position with a competition between a Day 3 pick, Dane Jackson, and Ja'Marcus Ingram sounds like a terrible spot to be in there.

Is it possible to you land on a Christian Benford who is a competent starter Year 1 on Day 3? Sure, it's a possibility. But it's way more likely than not a losing proposition.

Yea I am not advocating waiting. I am just saying the Bills are not in a great spot in terms of value of talent at corner likely to be available at the spot. A trade down from #30 or a trade up in the second are my preferred options. But I wouldn't pass on a stud DL if one is there at #30 just to get a corner because of need.

Ppl can laugh at that ( drafting 3 dts with our first picks), but it makes complete sense because that is where so much of the talent is in this class

If Beane only drafts 1 dt in this class I'm going to be pissed

3 defensive lineman need to be drafted in this class at minimum and all relatively high. Like before rd 5

In my last mock I drafted 5 dlineman total and 3 CBS

if we don’t bring in anyone before the draft, there’s really no excuse for not taking 2 DL in the first 3 picks. Preferably both DT depending on who is available.
