I appreciate the discussion. Normally I'm all about drafting good targets for Josh. Overall with the addition of Cooper I view Allens supporting cast, WR's TE's RB's  to be very good. One that will only get better over time IMO.

The Bills need more help on D then O in my humble opinion.

For sure. As fans we might have different opinions on what’s wrong with the team but we’re all on the same page about them reaching that ultimate goal.

There’s always next year! Cheers!

A stellar WR breaking down WR play- this isnt Nick Wright.  The problems Smith points out are obvious when you watch Keon.  The Bills coaches know this.  Steve points out Keon flaws, and says Buffalo has great coaches, and they must go balistic when Keon does that.  Did you watch the video?  Keon is round peg, square hole in our offense.  Last year our #1 need was a vertical threat, and we failed with Keon.  This year, a vertical threat is still our need IMO.  We havent replaced John Brown yet

Well the one other concern I'd have with a vertical threat is for whatever reason Allen seems to throw a rather inaccurate long ball.   If I were a DC going up against the Bills and lets assume they had selected Worthy, I wouldn't worry all that much about him and a deep ball as figure we have to take a chance someplace and until Allen can show he can complete that pass fairly often, lets worry more about stopping him elsewhere.

I don’t think it’s a set number. Every game is different. The number should be ‘more than your opponent’ when your offense has the ball in the waning minutes. Basically within 1 score with the ball in the last few minutes. We’ve been in that situation the last two years against KC. We couldn’t execute successfully. Get it done in those scenarios and we wouldn’t be talking about defense. We have an elite QB. That’s what elite QBs do.

So you’re saying our MVP, future first ballot HOF quarterback can’t find an open receiver? So, we need another one?

The Los Angeles Rams run an Offense that requires their WR's to block and are still able to maintain a vertical passing game with outside separation.

If Amari Cooper is not that guy any longer, it makes zero sense to bring him back and we desperately need to find a separator on the outside, given we should absolutely bring Hollins back, but that essentially locks in two big body receivers in Coleman & Hollins on the outside that haven't shown much separation ability.

Maybe Samuel, if he can finally be healthy, can give us that on the outside more next year but it's clearly not something we should be relying on.

I don't want to see Samuel catching passes behind the line of scrimmage ever again. That play needs to be ripped from the playbook and tossed into the incinerator.

Samuel is a much better wide receiver than that. Did everyone see that touchdown he had on Sunday?

I’m saying whatever we have to fix for those moments let’s do it. Whether it’s play design or execution or a little of both let’s learn from these moments and improve.

The only time we saw the offense have a signature drive (really drives) to take the lead against KC in the playoffs was the 13sec game. Then our coaching staff threw up all over themselves and gave the game away.

I have not seen Allen and the offense have a signature go ahead drive in the playoffs against KC since. We’ve had opportunities too. I’m not sure if it’s the battle scars or what but that fearless mentality Allen had in that 13 sec game was not there on that last drive this past Sunday. He looked like he had a whole world of pressure on him and still almost pulled it off. I hope the last few years have not neutered him in those moments. Like he wants it so badly that he can’t perform to his optimal level.

totally agree.  JA has THE WORST cast around him of any QB in the playoffs.  Go out an get Tee Higgins in FA.  Then draft someone in Rd. 2 who is an elite route runner.  Heck, bring Woods back (he can also block).  Bean is to blame for these playoff losses.  I really don't care about the D.  They suck in the playoffs anyway with McD, so build up the offense.

You make it sound like signing Higgins would be easy to do.

He will go where the money is, and I doubt we have it.

And how did Cooper perform?

Cooper performed well on the rare occasions Josh threw him the football.

Sunday he had 4 passes thrown to him and caught all 4 for 33 yards.

We just need more and also maybe some longer passes.

I hope we re sign him.

Current wrs are lacking big play potential which wastes Josh's strength.  Package picks 30 and 56 to move up to 17 or 18 and pick Luther Burden or Emeka Egbuka.

We'll have 4 4th rounders after comps for Davis and Floyd....trade 4th rounder to Jags for Gabriel Davis (meniscus surgery) and a 6th rounder;

You want Gabe Davis back?

Gabe had 4tds against the Chiefs in the 13 sec loss and they were all big plays not little dinks

Josh makes Gabe into a star wr, Gabe is lost with Trevor, no chemistry no confidence, Jags prob want to trade him to free up cap and he'll be so happy to be catching passes from Josh

I think its on the Bills page- there is an end zone camera from goal post, Curtis coming straight at the camera- you see how quick and elusive Curtis is.  Curtis was hampered by injuries.  I expect a big year from Curtis next year
