I don't see the Bills going WR in the early rounds. Defense will be the focus as it should be this draft. Hopefully Beane can find a good WR in the later rounds. 1 Quote

The recievers they met with at the combine are all projected to go within the first 2 days of the draft. 1 Quote

I definitely want to see the Bills give Allen another weapon in the passing game, but the defense needs a lot of help before next season starts. I am guessing defense in the early rounds. WR in the later rounds. Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago IMHO the odds one of our first 3 picks will be a WR went up when Hollins signed elsewhere (unless they sign another FA). If we don’t then I would expect one in the 4th round for sure, if not a trade up. Quote

He never caught even 20 balls in a season before that. I would shy away until maybe the 5th round given that lack of production, especially considering that Tennessee has a way of making fast receivers like Jalin Hyatt look good. I'm a big Thornton advocate... Though I posted the same concerns in another thread about him. I think though, on this offense, he could be the final piece to that everybody eats pie. I think as long as the expectations are realistic he would be a a real exciting addition. As far as his Draft stock goes. He will be over-Drafted. I think you can take it to the bank. 4.3 flat speed, he's almost 6-5... He has big play ability on tape. There is an aspect of his lack of production that was directly tied into that Vols Offense and what they ask the WR's to do. I don't think there are any character issues with him. Somebody is going to take a swing. I don't know how early...But my guess is somewhere in the late 3rd to the 4th Rd... I could be wrong. I'd love to get him later for sure. I don't want anyone to misunderstand what I think about Thornton. I see him as a one-dimension prospect right now that you like up outside or in bunch formations and just unleash him deep to put safeties in conflict. But I think that is exactly what this Offense needs desperately right now. 2 Quote

I wouldn't be surprised to see us draft DL - CB - WR with the first 3 picks. 1 Quote

I don't think that the FO does poor talent evaluation. I think that many fans' expectations about first and second round draft picks are unrealistic. Most of the ready-to-start future NFL stars are found in the first ten picks of any draft, and for some coveted positions like QB, DE/EDGE or OT, it's often the top 3 to 5 picks. By the time a team gets to the prospects in the bottom half of the first round and beyond, most have question marks, frequently about size or readiness for the NFL. Although these youngsters are vetted, there's no guarantee that a tweny-two-year-old who suddenly comes into a big pile of money will continue to do the things that got him that pile of money in the first place. Beane had 6 first round picks between 2018 and 2023. Only 1 (Elam) was a bust. One was an all-time great pick (Allen). Two were solid, good to very good starters (Oliver and Rousseau). One was a decent NFL starter (Edmunds) and the last one (Kincaid) had an excellent rookie season and a not-so-good sophomore season which also included a knee injury, so the jury is still out on him. Beane had 5 second round picks between 2018 and 2023. Two were busts (Ford and Basham). One is a Pro Bowler (Cook) and the other two are solid starters (Epenesa and Torrence). I think if you looked at other top teams' entire drafts over the same period, the Bills would be right with the best of them. 1 1 1 Quote

Tennessee QBs and style of offense attributed to his stats. Hyatt size and strength is his downfall in the NFL. Thornton has a NFL body Quote
