It's a good Dline class this year but if I could trade my first for Max Crosby I'd seriously consider it. I think Garrett is a pipe dream. The price for him is starting at two first rounders, especially for a team like the Bills picking #30.

Id be curious to see Crosby’s effect on our defense both physically but also mentally

I didn't know the WGR morning show has the name of Pete on this board.   The hyper focus on WR is ridiculous and while more WR talent would be better, there is not much evidence that it will make the difference.  There are several positions that shoudl be focused on, why is there never a DT train!!!!!???????

Thinking an Stud Wide Receiver wouldn't make much of a difference on the results of games but a Stud Defensive Tackle would is a wild train of thought.

Which stud DT is on the market? I'm not saying it isn't a bad thought.

Is it?   They broke the team record for points last year.  They scored in the playoffs. The wr will help with them sneaks or the 4th down no blitz pickup.   Teams with the best wrs did not even make the playoffs.  Get your head out of the sand. N

Riser: WR Jack Bech, TCU

May as well call him “Big Play Bech.”

Jack Bech exploded this season at TCU with explosive plays down the field and brought the same to the Senior Bowl practices, where he logged at least one big play down the field in each of the three days of practice. Bech has strong hands and is an uber-physical player, including in the run game, where he helps carve out added running room on the second level.

Great character.  Bills DNA.  Definitely on Beanes radar IMO

I like his teammate, Savion Williams

I'm not saying it's a bad thought either. Any improvement that can be made should be made. And you definitely can improve from Daquan Jones. But I certainly don't agree that having a better #1 option than Mack Hollins or Keon Coleman on the Outside would make less of a difference.

To your point though, there really isn't a Stud DT on the market this offseason.

And a DT does what for Patrick Mahomes quick release passes?

As I said above, improvement should be made anywhere it can be. But I vehemently disagree with your notion that giving Josh talent that can separate and get open wouldn't make more of a difference than a guy in the middle of the D-Line.

The key to beating the Chiefs in the playoffs is outscoring them. We could put the best Defense we've ever had on the field and Mahomes/Reid are going to scheme around it and put points up. If guys were getting open and were more reliable, we would have won that game. We shouldn't be relying on James Cook and the Run game to single handedly bail us out. That won't work against KC.

I would make the argument that an upper echelon DT impacts the pass rush which potentially stops drives; which in turn gives our already potent offense more opportunities to score.

We severely need that in general let alone against KC.

I know your point speaks to playoffs but there were about 5 games during the season where 20-25 points wins against them.

We are constantly forced to get into a shootout with them because we barely make them punt.

This is coming from a guy in full support of upgrading weapons for Josh

The regular season Chiefs are *not* the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl Chiefs. We're running on at least Year 2 of thinking the Chiefs are beatable this time around based on how they looked in the Regular Season. When it comes to the big games, they're a different team.

They are heading to their 5th Super Bowl in 6 seasons - attempting an unprecedented 3rd Super Bowl Victory in a row. If they win, it would be their 4th Super Bowl win in their 5 appearances in 6 years.

Their 2 losses in these 6 years of Playoff Dominance? A Super Bowl loss to the Brady led Bucs - that came because their Offensive Line was COMPLETELY decimated by injuries. And an AFC Championship game against the Bengals where they lost on an OT Field Goal. Every other time? Mahomes and Reid handled whatever Defense was put in front of them.

Again, I'm not saying completely neglect the Defense. An upgrade from Daquan Jones, who, let's face it, is toast - is needed and should be addressed. But in no way is a Defensive Tackle going to make a bigger difference in overcoming the hurdle than getting Josh someone who can get open so he's not running around not finding anyone open and relying on the Run Game as much as we had to.

This is the reason why I thought KC would be the Bills biggest challenge this playoffs, not Baltimore. It was crazy to read the amount of fans prediction of an easy win over them after we got past Baltimore. It was the same sentiment last year before the divisional game in OP. It’ll probably be the same next year if they meet again in the playoffs again. We fans never learn.

You said they have neglected WR for Allen's entire career.  Clearly they haven't, as Diggs demonstrates.

Even that decision we kinda screwed up.  Could you imagine having Justin Jefferson instead of Diva Diggs from 2020- 2024?

I was one of them and obviously I gave our regular season victory way too much value.  The Chiefs are alot like the Kobe Lakers. They can cruise into the playoffs,  then they flip this massive switch where their coaches & players just dominate.

Other than maybe BJ Hill, there's not much available in FA.  Hill would cost you 8-9/ yr.  We gotta take advantage of a deep DT draft and get a couple monsters.

Dude we have a first and two second round picks.  Yes a WR would make a difference.  Coleman caught 7 out of his last 21 targets.  He is glued to defenders, and plays paddycake.  It is obvious to me, Marino, Beane, McDermott- we need WRs who can separate.  It would be nice when Josh looks Keon's way, and he is glued to defender, to instead have a WR who can separate.  I want to draft 2 stud DT's too.  Its not mutually exclusive.  And we are not going to use every draft pick on defense, thats a fact, Jackl

I think you’re right here.  I really didn’t like the Coleman pick, but he showed a little by mid-season and then got destroyed by Poyer against Miami.  He was not heard from again and I would not count on him for much next year. They need receiver help, but it looks like a real down year in the draft for the position.

I don’t see a WR that will be available late round 1 that would be worth picking there unless they are willing to draft another guy who is best out of the slot.  It seems likely that the DEs available at end of round 1 will be better prospects than any available WR.

Always fun going into a new offseason with the exact same crying need you had LAST offseason, and having little more confidence that the team will address it.

If only the Bills had been in position to draft a quality separator or field stretching pass catcher like Ladd McConkey or Xavier Worthy last year. If only they had had the ammo and gumption to trade up five or six picks and take a Brian Thomas Jr.

Ah well. I'm sure another season of Mack Hollins and his funny outfits leading the team in touchdown catches will be just fine.

It reads so bad . That's  my team

I can't  lie I think you have great points and I hate it

So we need an elite WR and an elite EDGE rusher? There goes all our picks and salary cap since Beane can't hit on any of those it seems. He heavily relies on free agents and trades which is never a good way to go about it. Diggs worked out until he got old, I think the last edge rusher I remember being dominant was Mario Williams. I agree we 100% need to find Allen some weapons with speed that can seperate (I often wonder what Brian Thomas would have done for this offense if we would have traded up for him and I'm not usually a person that dwells in the past or at least I try not to) but I think those should be in the form of draft picks, some fresh legs, possibly a 2nd and 4th rounder since we should have multiples in both of those rounds.

At no point did I say we shouldn't Draft a DT or that we shouldn't upgrade the position. I quoted someone who said a stud WR wouldn't make a difference but a Stud DT would and said that's a wild take. And I disagree with it.
