But we have been neglecting Josh and WR his entire career. 4 year agos we desperately needed WR, 3 years ago, 2 years ago, and last year., We have ignored Josh's needs. It is obvious we need WR. For the love of God, get Josh a few talented WRs! Absolutely, but they also need a defense that can hold the Chiefs under 30 points. It’s getting a little ridiculous 1 Quote

Or hire scouts smart enough to identify good defensive players. I'm not giving them 7-8 more years to draft some more Bashams or Elams. Give Josh at least enough weapons to allow him to outscore teams 48-45. These clowns are never building a great defense, anymore then they'll out-scheme Reid. Remember when the Bills had the best offense and lost a Super Bowl cuz they scored 17 points? We've lost the last two playoff games because our offense couldn't beat their defense with the game on the line. 13 seconds was lost because our defense couldn't stop the KC offense. The reason why the mantra that defense wins champions. Edited 4 hours ago by The Jokeman Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I posted this on another thread, but it's fitting in this one. I have a fear that they don't want the kind of WR we're calling for and/or the type of WR we're calling for won't want to come here with the kind of role a #1 WR in a Joe Brady Offense seems to be. Once Joe Brady took over, Stefon Diggs became a decoy. And came off the field more than he ever had. And we became a much more Run focused Offense. It's my belief that this was the breaking point for Diggs. Then we make the move for Amari Cooper. Who comes in and is used mainly as a decoy. And ultimately not seeing the field much. The only reason I see for this is that he wasn't the down field blocker that Mack Hollins and Keon Coleman are. Many fans, myself included, want a bonafide veteran #1 WR to come in this offseason. But I fear that with how Diggs was used, how we approached the position this past offseason, and now seeing how Cooper was used that Brady isn't interested in a guy unless he's willing to get his hands dirty on the regular and not be a focal point of the Offense. And most stud WR's aren't interested in that. Edited 20 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote

I wish I had a great answer… cooper is hard to forecast from where you and I sit Hollywood brown? He was a 1 yr 7m and shouldn’t be pricier I haven’t scoped out the draft much but a high pick would be fine by me Im not sure what to say on this one but I wouldn’t be shocked if Christian Kirk finds his way into offseason discussions. Cut candidate, previous interest from beane and friend of Josh. I’m not sure he solves our problem but a year here may help him regroup if cut. i haven’t deeply looked at options though 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago We have real problem now because of the 12 deep targets, the no turnovers, the scoring efficiency, and a running game the prospective stats are not good enough for any great receiver to want to sign with the Bills. I’d be happy if we re-signed cooper as the X. 1 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I’d load up on defense as much as the cap allows in free agency, target a WR to our liking in the 1st or 2nd round of the draft, then load up on more defense with our other remaining 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks. Draft additional depth with upside in later rounds. We need more young and fast talent at WR, which will also cost less via the draft than in FA. Quote
BillMafia716ix Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago They did give Josh Allen Stefon Diggs. He was great for us. Unfortunately they had to cut ties with him earlier than they probably originally planned because he was an #######. They took the cap hit but now that money is clear. Now I expect Beane to go out and grab him another one. 1 Quote

Didn’t work for Mahomes in 2018 when he had the 3rd best offense in history… or Manning when he had the #1 offense in history…nor Brady when he had the #2 offense in history…nor the 2024 Lions who had the #4 offense in history…nor 8 of the top 10 offenses in history. Meanwhile all those offenses were mostly eliminated in the postseason or lost the Super Bowl to teams with tough defenses and mediocre offenses. We all love scoring points…but if you can’t get some stops you put the onus on your offense to be perfect. Ok then what year do you anticipate Sean finally finding his perfect defense? You do realize Sean's current model involves failed defensive picks and a scheme KC can easily shred. He has failed in locking up a quality defense for his first 8 years. Quote

This kid would've been Josh's #1 WR for 7-10 years. It would've cost us Cole Bishop. But instead Beane reverts to more stupidity and does business with the team that owns him and his boss. Coleman runs a 4.7, there are LB's faster than that. Last year WAS the huge WR draft. And we treated it like an unimportant need for Josh. Nothing this organization does anymore surprises me. Just tell your worthless scouts to keep drumming up mediocre defensive players like Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Elam. And don't forget to tell Josh to "do it all yourself with the scraps we throw you". The last bit really bothers me. Extending plays and taking hits to get throws off so often is going to catch up with Allen - and the Bills - at some point. He a big guy, but he’s not as big as a defensive lineman. 1 Quote

Thats one of my biggest points for adding WRs who can separate. Bills have slow receivers who cannot separate, and Josh is taking a beating, extending plays. If they get open quick, Josh takes less hits. Every team is trying to pummel Josh. Mahomes gets hit less. He has multiple choices to throw to, because their WR beat our CB. Help Josh out! 1 Quote

Not quite.. Kincaid played most of the year with a bad PCL. It was disturbing to see his hands not quite a good as his rookie season but he still has value. Coleman looked horrible against KC. He struggled to even get off the line. Coleman, rookie or not, was a huge fail at this point. 1 1 Quote

BillyJoeBills Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I admit that I overinflated Gabe Davis value so we let's offer one of our multiple 6th rounders to Jags and get back a 7th rounder too, Jags knows he has no future there with Trevor, comes cheap after season ending meniscus repair; he's still only 25 yrs old and have him catch passes all day and into the night until his hands turn blue Quote

Well then maybe tell Josh (who said this himself) not to misread the defense on 4th and 5 and shift the protection away from the Blitz when Spags did the opposite of what was expected...then tell Kincaid to not drop the hero ball Allen still manages to get away that would have been caught in FG range. You can also tell Josh a tush push a perpetual forward motion low to the ground and to quit side stepping allowing time for the D to react...you know like he did all year but for some reason ran the most bastardized version in the biggest game of the year. While you are at it...call the NFL and tell them to get technology so the refs don't steal, not one, but two first downs from the Bills on the same set of downs 2 plays apart. And while you have them on the phone, you can let them know that Worthy/Bishop catch also wasn't a catch. Then, you can send in all the footage of the facemasks and holding the Chiefs didn't get flagged on too. Quote

You do realize Sean's current model involves failed defensive picks and a scheme KC can easily shred. He has failed in locking up a quality defense for his first 8 years. We just fielded the 16th highest scoring offense in NFL history this year...16 all time. The top 2 teams lost in the SB to defensive teams with meidocre offenses, both getting shut down, and one of the #1 offense getting blown out by over 30 points. The next 2 (Mahomes in 2018 and Lions in 2024) didnt even reach the SB. The offense has been the priority for 3 straight seasons. We also pick late every year. Once upon a time we were picking too late to get one of the pre-draft blue chip WR prospects who were all certain to be gone before our pick and Beane instead made the trade to go get a proven stud player at WR in Diggs. I suggest we do that again...go make a splash trade (as I do not think there is any great options in FA) for a difference maker on our DL. Then go sign Holland to shore up safety. Draft a WR, or make a move via trade or FA (not sure who is available in FA) for a WR and then draft a CB at some point in the draft. This is exactly what I try and do. We do not have a difference maker on defense. We got plenty of good players who fit the system, but we need an impact player, someone who can disrupt the Mahomes, Lamars, and Burrows of the world because those guys are going no where any time soon and we need to get past them every single year. Doesn't mean we don't address WR, it means a top tier WR changes very little for this team compared an impact player who can get the opponent off the field a drive or two more a game which would have been all the difference in our playoff exits. Its the only way anyone has beaten Mahomes in the playoffs in 7 years. Like it or not...this is now for as long as Brady is our OC (or possible future HC) is a spread the ball around offense. This team will benefit more from a guy who is dialing it up every play they are out there to slow down our opponents. We don't need to become the #1 D in the NFL, a difference maker on our defense who could just make a play or two more a game would be all the difference this team needs to get over the hump. A lot of people have this idea that some elite WR means we "score more points"...there are only so many offensive drives we get per game and we already score more points than anyone having scored the most points in the NFL over the past 5 seasons. Its not like we are not scoring most drives, we score A LOT. Bengals with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins score less than us. Miami with Hill and Waddle score less than us. Philly with Brown and DeVonta score less than us. SF with Aiyuk, Deebo, and Kittle score less than us. Minnesota with Jefferson and Addison score less than us. All of these are facts...there are no use case facts for going all in at WR to get over the hump...none. The only 2 teams of the 10 highest scoring all time that won a SB were the 2011 Packers and then all the way back in 1983 with the Redskins. And this is the era of offense we are in...most offense in history...those teams aren't winning SB's. Instead teams like the Patriots and Chiefs have dynasties whose offenses aren't top heavy at WR and where defense is a substantial part of their success. Quote
