BobbyC81 Posted yesterday at 12:46 PM Posted yesterday at 12:46 PM It’ll be interesting to see the development of Solomon. They say the biggest jump is usually from year 1 to year 2. He was great in college, even though it wasn’t against top competition. Quote
Rew Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago There is no way he is playing for us under his current contact. However, this was a 6 year cap schedule. With dead cap hit from '26 and '27 I think we could keep him cap neutral in '25. I give better than 50/50 chance that he restructures to something like "up to 16M", with a 6-7M base and incentives that get him to 10-12M if he gets 10 sacks. It all comes down to how much Von wants to play. If he wants to come back I think we give him the shot to continue being a rotational veteran. 1 Quote
Man with No Name Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago with the dead money at play, if the price is right, he might be back here. I won't be mad either way. It will 100% be a business decision. Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Couple things, not sure if spotrac has this updated yet but he hit unlikely to be earned incentives, that gets added to his next years dead cap. I think they made do the post June 1 thing with him. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago After hearing Von and the management speak after the season...I think they approach him with the option of a pay cut. Not a restructure. A straight up pay cut. If he takes it he will likely be back, if not then they release him. Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Its time to move on. Use his money to sign pat jones in fa, then draft multiple des and multiple CBS Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago It will either be pay cut again or post June 1st designation. Quote
T master Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago For sure he's not the player he was before the injury but he did generate some pressure in some games especially when he had $1.5 million on the plate ! I'm sure this will be a conversation that Beane, McD & Pegs will talk about this off season and if there is any way they can come up with better production from a younger player for less money than they lose in the cap hit i think they will do it and move into the future . Von has helped some of the rookies or younger players on the team but Beane has known when to cut bait when needed and i don't expect that to change with Von, there are players at his age that still have good production like Calaous Campbell, Kyle Van Noy, & a few others so it's possible that they might feel they could get 1 more year of decent out put out of him . MrEpsYtown Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Yes. He just doesn't give you enough for the price. 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I hate admitting this, he was still great before the injury and one of the greatest ever. He was the closest thing to Bruce we've ever had. And he probably could have been great for a few years.... He's washed and it's over. That injury destroyed his explosive ability and bend And I hate admitting that. Defensive ends ain't cheap, and saving 9 mil isn't as much as we think at the DE position. (Assuming we are bringing in an upgrade) Well that means if we get someone at 15 million we only down 6 million. Or we wait till June and save 17 million 👍 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Von Miller's contract: 23.8mm active cap hit for 2025 If we release him pre-June 1st 15.4mm dead cap in 2025 8.4mm cap savings in 2025 If we release him post-June 1st 6.4mm dead cap for 2025 9.0mm dead cap for 2026 17.4mm cap savings in 2025 Von will be 36 years old this coming season. He's a major knee injury and 2.5 seasons removed from the last time he was a difference maker on the field. If Von were a UFA today I doubt he'd get a deal for more than 5mm (maybe with a bunch of incentives). The question isn't SHOULD Von Miller be released, it's WHEN should he be released Quote
HamptonBillsfan Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Immediately if not sooner. He’s washed. Congrats on a great career. 1 1 Quote

It just never panned out with him. That's our luck. Everyone was so thrilled we "swung for the fences." Keep this in mind next time we get the urge to go all-in on the next 30-something superstar. DrDawkinstein Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I mean, it isnt even a question. Yes he will be cut. Quote

VW82 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Even if all we do is restructure to equal the dead cap we’d do it because it’d be Von + 8M in cap savings vs. only 8M in cap savings. Von will likely be down for this because he’s not going to get 15M on the open market. Plus, we’re a SB contender. Long story short, expect Von to be a Bill in 25. Quote
