Should Von Miller be cut?

Yep, that's why they need to forget about bringing Von back and invest those savings into bringing in someone who will do exactly that.

I honestly think Solomon could've given us 6 sacks this season if he got the playing time in passing situations.

Oh for sure, I'm in favour of cutting him 100 percent.

 

My point is- Bills are still going to need to find a better replacement for him as saving 9 mil for a DE who got 6 sacks isn't a ton

Please cut Von. Not only has he been a huge disappointment and possibly a big reason we haven't won a SB (image his cap spent on a top-tier WR or CB or pair of Safeties instead), he also seems like a bad person (even for an NFL player).

Von has sucked since his knee injury.  Bad luck, but it will go down as the second worst move by the front office.  The first worst move was reworking his deal which moved it from a 3 y 51mm dollar deal (guaranteed more or less) to closer to the full 6y 120mm.

Von was our best edge defender this year despite only playing 30% of snaps. You could make the argument that he probably deserved more. Especially over Epenesa. I’d bring him back as a DE3 for sure. Greg Rousseau didn’t have the year I thought he would..we cut Von we literally have nothing on the edges

Defensive ends ain't cheap, and saving 9 mil isn't as much as we think at the DE position. (Assuming we are bringing in an upgrade)

This is the recipe. Every year Beane brings in these lunch pail guys (Toohill, Smoot, etc). So 3/5 of the guys are already on the roster. I don’t think 6 sacks is all that much production to replace. 
 

Smoot was making 2.5 mil and was a key contributor to this team. I don’t think his sack numbers were very good, but cost controlled. A 1st round pass rusher is certainly going to save you money and often much better returns down the line than hanging onto Von for another year. They aren’t completely bare here.

But you can't go into the season with that IMO. You need a significant upgrade at DE 2 as AJ isn't good enough for that

 

I would pick a DE at 30, but can't rely on that for huge impact. Got to sign a top pass rusher or trade for one

Your implication that replacing Vons 6 sacks was expensive is what I was referencing. I don’t really this it would be. 
 

A DE at 30 could absolutely be enough, depending on if you hit or not. I would not in the slightest be surprised if that’s what they did. 
 

Now if you wanted to trade #30 for an established guy who costs a bit of money, now I think you’re onto something. 
 

I don’t see them doing both. For example, they won’t sign Josh sweat at 16 mil a year and take one at 30

Von being our best edge rusher isn't saying much. The whole defense needs a revamp and reimagining.
