The league and CBS were happy as soon as the Chiefs beat the Texans. Whether it was the Ravens or the Bills at Arrowhead, it was going to rate well. Sorry, but no way would Texans at Bills have pulled in that many viewers.

Maybe that's why they got so many calls 🧐

The Bills are a great watch, no question. and their games are often exciting. Think this past season vs KC, at Rams, at Detroit to name a few.

Also, against Baltimore and KC they stuck Buffalo in the high ratings Sunday evening windows.  So those games being close and with the most available viewers were going to have huge numbers.

Oh absolutely.  The Texans were the most boring team in the playoffs and not even the most popular team in their state.  The Chiefs get the Swifties and two elite QB's will always get huge numbers in the playoffs.

This is NOT good. For as much as the NFL likes to control the narrative, the narrative on the Bills, and part of the reason people watch, is they just can't seem to break through. Outside of the diehard mafia, they are the lovable underdogs that you can't help but pull for. With ratings like that, the NFL has no reason for the narrative to change which means the lean of the officiating will NEVER change... the sad thing is I'm only partially kidding.

That’s the Bills appeal to casual fans around the world.  If they ever win a Super Bowl they lose that identity.  It’s like after the Cubs won the WS nobody outside of Chicago cared that much anymore.

The Bills-Chiefs AFCCG was the most watched AFCCG in the history of the NFL, at 57 million viewers.

Unlike what some media outlets may lead you to believe, it’s not because of the Chiefs. The Bills are the main draw.

- The Bills were the 2nd most-viewed game of the wild-card round (even against a mediocre Denver team) at 31.1 million.

- The Bills were the most-viewed game of the divisional round at 42.2 million.

- The Bills were the most-viewed game of the Championship round at 56.7 million.

The common denominator is the Bills every time.

Chiefs are the main draw in the NFL.  Let's not pretend otherwise.

That said... I do think the NFL is pushing the limits of what the NFL fanbase is willing to take given the constant officiating controversy.

The Bills are pretty clearly their second biggest draw.  Which is saying something given the baked in viewership numbers of national teams like the Cowboys.

They are not.

The viewership numbers tell us that it is in fact the Bills. The Chiefs only have the most watched playoff game when the Bills are playing.

narratives don't win or lose games.

anyway, this is good news for everyone, obviously: the Bills, the NFL, the broadcasters, the sponsors.

Thing is most cowboys fans only tune in anymore to watch Jerry in the owners box every time the team implodes.

It's the matchups that are the draw.

Bills/Ravens, Bills/KC are better views because of the QBs (and the compelling Bills/Chiefs history).

There really aren't many Commanders fans nationally.  And who is watching the Rams anymore?--no national draw at all, same for Houston.  Philly has more of a national following than any of those 3.

Bottom line, those are all massive ratings numbers.  This is why the NFL is the only really relevant league in this country.

I am so happy 57 million were watching the Buffalo Bills choke again.

Should be a whole new round of Buffalo choking jokes

Can't wait...

Boxes of "Bills AFC Champions" T-shirts and hats on their way to Africa right now.  It's just getting so old with the Chiefs already.

Bills-Denver is a good matchup to you? How about Bills-Dolphins with a 3rd string backup QB?

Its the Bills.

Theyre the draw.

Dolphins were not in the playoffs this year.

Broncos were a very buzzy team with a sharp rookie QB plus one of the better playcalling HC's, top 10 scoring, top 3 Defense....

Last year's SB game was an all time high--an insane 123 million---blowing away the previous year's record of 115.  Which AFC team played in those games?

Bills-Dolphins playoffs two years ago ... with a 3rd string QB ... was the most watched wild-card on CBS in nearly a decade.

It's the Bills.

Bills-Steelers were the most watched wild-card game last year.

It's the Bills

They were the opposite of buzzy.

They had limped into the playoffs losing 2 of their last 3 regular season games and were 8 point underdogs.

It's the Bills.

The Super Bowl keeps rising in numbers because of access to the game growing - its not the teams. It could have been Detroit - San Diego and it would have had 123 million.

Whether its Bills-Dolphins, Bills-Steelers, Bills-Broncos, Bills-Ravens, or Bills-Chiefs ... the Bills consistently have the most watched or 2nd most watched playoff game of the entire round theyre playing in.

It's the Bills.
