Will there be any shock organizational moves in the coming days/weeks?

We’re all just assuming the Bills will run it back, no changes. I think that’s the course.

But any chance you just see McD up and leave due to burnout or something? or get fired?  Beane?

Any big name players out the door other than maybe Von, Milano, Hamlin?

There is always some movement but doubt it will be major changes. I think they will see that this team overachieved for what it was.

Milano looked like vintage Milano in the playoffs and he's not really financially viable to move off anyway.

 

I think Smiley is probably gone, but that's about it.

 

Overall, it seems like a very predictable off-season when it comes to who is brought back and who we let leave.

Von will likely be shown the door- but I don’t think it will happen this week.

No major changes but Beane absolutely needs to be on the hot seat this season.  Too many 1st rd misses.  And I'm sick of him bringing in like 5 JAG receivers every year and overpaying them(Sherfield, Hines, Harty, MVS, Claypool, Samuel) for barely any production.   Just go out and find that one dude.

No, McDermott has a lifetime contract. As long as the Bills win the regular season and tickets and merchandise keep selling, there’s no reason to change anything.

From a front office or coaching standpoint,  I doubt it. 

 

I would expect significant turnover defensively.  I think Von Miller and Daquan Jones will both likely be released as post June 1st cuts.  Hamlin and Douglas are unlikely to return.  I thought Milano played well late in the year and I would keep him,  but I wouldn't be stunned if they move on.

Agree that Beane needs to be keenly aware of the weaknesses here. People think the window is open as long as JA is here? i’m not so sure it will be as open for the long duration people think.  

 

But i do know this coming 2025 season they are absolutely going to be a top team again, and 2026, the first season in the new stadium they will have a great chance to win it all. It’s going to be a special year.  Beyond that, things will likely decline. That’s just my opinion. Beane had better use all the resources at his disposal to get this D to championship caliber, and to add some. alia le pieces to the O.

I agree with most of this.

 

I was calling for Smiley to be gone last year. Special Teams has bye and large been poor most of McDermott's tenure...but extra bad the last 2 years.

 

Von should go. Milano and Samuel would be approached for pay cuts if it were me.

 

The only thing I disagree with is Hamlin. I think he should be upgraded as starter if one is available, but would gladly keep him as a depth player. He's young with a lot of starting experience in this system and shouldn't cost a ton.

I expect Beane to be aggressive in FA in upgrading the talent on both sides of the ball. Allen has a good supporting cast around him, but it needs to be better as the playoffs have shown us. So as for the team there will changes as it is every offseason with every team. As for the FO. No change. Beane and McDermott are not getting fired anytime soon.

With all due respect, the first part was a ridiculous question even  by my standards.  
 

I swear that some Bills fans (and a few in the national media) are completely delusional when it comes to Beane and McDermott’s job status. 

 

Is a football coach who lives and breathes the sport (and who has a guaranteed $10M contract) going to walk away from his lifelong dream?  Why?  Because fans are mad he was one drive short of the Super Bowl.    
 

They aren’t going ANYWHERE.  
 

Yes there will be positional coaching turnover as there always is in the offseason.  Coaches will move on and new ones will move in.  
 

The only “surprise” I might anticipate is Matt Smiley.  He didn’t have a great season and last year wasn’t good either.  I can see McDermott making a change

No. It will be the same thing. Maybe the STs coordinator change. An aspect of the game that has been completely phased out but we are obsessed with it. We suck at it but if you can’t play teams, this dude will keep you inactive
