I still have my moments. The 3rd and 1 and 4th and one spots might as well be as horrific as the No Goal in the Cup. I wanted the 2 weeks of hype so so badly leading up to the Super Bowl and it was torn away. I hate KC and anything related to them more than the old Patriots by a billion times. I hope Mahomes breaks both of his legs in the Super Bowl and I would not care one bit.

If that sounds harsh, just watch that little Bi#$& complain about the refs during the HANDSHAKE after the little princess didn't get his way last year. I wish nothing but ill will towards him and his teammates.

Yep, and no coincidence the refs have not dared to make a decisive call against them ever since that day. An entire season has gone by. Plenty of decisive calls for them vs. ZERO against them. That simply doesn’t happen with any other team in the NFL.

To his credit, Mahomes made sure to voice his displeasure after that game (in the most immature way possible, but I’m also glad the entire country saw his true colors that day) and the refs have not DARED to make a decisive call against them ever since.

and you know what the best part about it is? THE CALL WAS CORRECT!!!!!  He was complaining about the RIGHT call!!  How ridiculous is that?

In the Texans game, when I witnessed Mahomes with the most egregious “flop” I have ever seen AFTER multiple massive bad calls against the Texans, I realized that this guy does not care one bit how he wins, as long as he wins.  Whether he wins the Super Bowl legitimately or by cheating makes no difference to him.

I'm fine.  From wondering if they could win the division to the brink of the SB, pretty great result this season.   I'm more into the program being improved every year and I believe McBeanes are accomplishing this.   I separate the crap-shoot single elimination tournament from the more revealing regular season.   As far as I'm concerned, Bills were 15-4 this year and that is great.   Still recovering from 17 years of suck I guess.  Plus I'm a Josh fan but for all his heart and grit, he's got flaws that can show up in a game or two each year.   Unfortunately, one the games they showed up in was a single elim. tournament game.. can't recover from that one...

Looking forward to Beane having his hands untied adding more talent in FA this off season.

Should be an even better roster next season.

I think the ball clearly hit the ground with no hand underneath it and that is where I just wish they'd simplify the rule. That is no catch. I thought there was clearly enough evidence to overturn that to be honest but introducing this "control" element which is open to interpretation confuses things.

I think these rules about a catch and others are intentional to give them wiggle room when they need it.

If you and I got together I'd bet we could wrote a new catch rule for the NFL that was easy to understand and enforce in about 10 minutes.

Something like " catch the football and run 3 steps. For sideline catches player must have possession of the football with 2 feet in bounds."

This could be easily verified on replay.

But instead they get experts together to write a new rule that is even more convoluted.  They put in even more nebulous subjective language like "football move" and "process of the catch".

This is by design IMHO.

I wouldn't even say 3 steps. Have you caught the ball with 2 feet or an equivalent body part on the ground? If so, catch. If you then drop it, fumble.

That's cool.

My real point is that a simple easy to verify rule in real time and on replay would be very easy to do if they were so inclined.  Evidently they're not for some unknown reason.

I feel most of us Buffalo fans knew that the defense was not Championship caliber and was getting by with turnovers. We watched game after game and there was little or no pressure or sacks on opposing QBs. While the Buffalo offense was good enough the defense just wasn't. Then add injuries to S Taylor Rapp and CB Christian Benford. Buffalo had a rookie starting at Safety.

Plus so many Bills fans were overconfident for that Chiefs game and they failed to realize that the Chiefs play up to the talent level in the playoffs.

Let's hope Brandon Beane finds some pass rushers and better defensive backs for this year's season. Besides the Bills had a rookie calling the defensive plays. Unlike the Chiefs who have an ex-NFL HC as OC and DC. Not to mention HC Andy Reid.

It was a tough task to take on the Chiefs at Arrowhead and yet it came down to 3 points...again!

The Bills squeezed every last drop of good fortune out of our “takeaways” defense and the “tush push” offense.  Eventually you run into the very best teams and you need actual defensive stops in big moments and real creative play calls to get that end of game TD we yearn for.

I don’t feel it was even automatic that KC should have taken a 32-29 lead.  We all applaud and say good job guys, you only gave up a field goal. from their own 32 yard line with 6:11 remaining in the game, tied 29 it only took the Chiefs 7 plays to get to our 17 yard line.  Why couldn’t we stop them and force a punt.

I think what bothers me the most is that 2 of our "failed" tush pushes are misleading.

On the first failed 2 point conversion, Josh overthinks it and hesitates first, something that he had never done all season, and arguably cost us the play.

And then, we all know that it technically did succeed on the 4th and 1 play.

So that means the "2 out 5" success rate statistic would have been more like 4 out of 5.

Not to mention, the 4th and 1 play had Chris Jones lining up Offside just to give them a shot at stopping it.

That said, I hope we don't give up on this play next year.  It should still have an incredibly high success rate when executed properly and when refs aren't screwing it up for us.

I think the NFL has no problem with the controversial plays. It's been going on since I've been watching and it's never affected the ratings or fan interest to my knowledge. The day it affects (or they think it affects) their bottom line is the day they start caring. The confusing/ambiguous rules are window dressing imo.

The Monday before the Raven's game my wife found out that a funny looking mole was melanoma.  That Friday she had surgery to remove a thumb sized piece of her shoulder.   At that point my nervousness about the Bills game changed as you might imagine.  Two days ago we got word that the melanoma had not spread beyond the original margins.  You can imagine the relief and I feel so blessed.  This whole episode has brought me some serious perspective and made what happen to the Bills relatively inconsequential.   The draft will be here soon, training camp and the season opener and I'm looking forward to sharing all of those with my wife.

That’s good news/. and how about the plane crash down here for perspective.  My friends know 3 local people on that flight, one being an up and coming teen figure skater.  The daughter, who was at college when it happened no longer has parents or a brother. Talk about making a game seem irrelevant.

Oh I'm still POed. And the 4th playoff loss against these Cheaps will leave a mark. But the over the top of negativity of many posters here turn me into a positive SOB.

I too feel the D could hide many of its deficiencies thanks to  the turnovers. And well the O had barely any too. We can't expect that every year. Yet, even if the offense scored a LOT, who here doesn't feel that both the run game was not utilized enough and that the pass game could easily be enhanced? Cook was much better than just a 1,000 yards. The OLine delivers. WRs and TEs had such low numbers, and the Bills forgot the deep pass while there's cannon arm JA back there.

Basically I expect a very different season yet lots of success still. And as it much as the cliche sucks, just get in the playoff dance. The rest is up for grabs.

Still very pissy, and alot of my anger is towards the coaching staff. I'm not on the fire McDermott train or anything, but I believe there's some incompetence and it makes me angry. See tweet below

I have a hard time w/ this.

I think McDermott is one of the better coaches in the league overall.  He really did a great job this season - and ultimately, his one flaw is that we end up a few points short of one of the best teams in history (sorry if that offends anyone, but they are one of the true dynasties now).

BUT, we are in the minority of teams that have a defensive HC.  And the defense is always the unit that lets us down in these games.  2 chances in the final 2 minutes to stop KC from getting a 1st down, and giving JA one last chance - and they didn't even really come close.  And they gave up more points to KC than ANY OTHER TEAM.

It's tough. Obviously, McDermott will stay as our HC - and looking at most coaching around the league, I'm okay w/ that.  But we have a defense problem. I almost wish we had brought Saleh or someone like that in - someone proven.  McD would never go for it, but I like him as HC - he's just not the defensive guy we need.

I haven't thought about it much. This has been a much more productive week since last Sunday, as this is the first time I have looked at anything on TBD.

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year--lost players, salary cap hits, etc.--but it turned out to be a year where expectations probably outran reality. Our team was surprisingly very good, and with a few days of reflection, we got the most, really, more, out of this team than we should have. We got a little spoiled and greedy. And that is not bad. But because of that, we can too easily forget what was actually accomplished--which was a lot.

The future is bright.

I will leave it to Marv to move us forward:

"A LITTLE I AM HERT, BUT NOT YET SLAIN.

I'LL JUST LIE DOWN AND BLEED A WHILE,

THEN I'LL RISE AND FIGHT AGAIN."

I'm recovering.  This is the first time I've been back to TBD.  I tried to watch GMFB yesterday but bailed when the Chiefs were mentioned.   Right now, I don't want to hear/read/see anything about the Chiefs.  I think I hate them right now in a way that I haven't hated a team since I hated the 70s Fins.
