HappyDays Posted Tuesday at 05:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:00 PM Honestly worse. The more I think about the loss the less confident I feel that we can fix the coaching and roster deficiencies that ended our season. We have zero stars outside of Allen, an OC still finding his way, a defensive head coach that gets massively out schemed by Andy Reid every year. It feels like we are stuck in purgatory. 1 1 1 Quote
turbo044 Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM The thinking that the league "wanted" KC back in the Superbowl is absolute BS. There would have been no better/bigger story for them than Detroit vs Buffalo. KC is old news, and if anything, the league probably would have preferred they lose. Public is sick of KC. Now the refs sucked but unrelated 2 1 Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted Tuesday at 05:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:05 PM I feel better but I find this statement crazy, everybody I have spoken with agreed that Josh got the first down, literally not one person actually states he was short, so the NFL is happy with a product where the only people without the resources to get the correct answer is the officials. The NFL is happy that I have a better chance and getting the call correct than the officials. 1 Quote

Coleman, yep, the rumbles were that he liked Coleman and would like him if the MHJ/Nabers/Odunze/Thomas Jr’s were off the board. Never heard about him hand picking Kincaid. That’s even more peculiar to me as Knox was his guy and had just got a big contract. Not saying you’re wrong by any means, just that’s the first I’ve heard about that the case. I always thought it was the FO/Staff who were eager to get a second TE to run more 21 & 22 personnel. I definitively remember Beane and Josh stating that he wanted them to draft Kincaid. I will look it up and post as soon as I find it. No big deal though... Kincaid had a great first season, part of which i credit Diggs for. Diggs did draw attention and that let others get less attention which opened the door for more looks and receptions. Same thing for Gabe when we had prime Beasley. Diggs and Beasley drew so much attention. IMO, we desperately need a Jefferson, Chase type of WR1. We dont have Andy Reid, McVay, or Shannahan type to out scheme opponents. We need a dominant WR1 that demands defenses attention, which will open the doors for the others 1 Quote

The league's calculus has to be that they don't care and know we'll still watch, but it's not just Bills fans... it's fans of every team outside KC and it's analysts and commentators. It's the sudden realization by almost everyone that the league isn't about pure competition. They'll still get ratings because the Super Bowl is an American holiday at this point, but this is the most "out" i've ever seen the NFL fanbase on a game. Someone pointed out about the complaints Romo & Nantz had one air throughout the game several times before and even after the outcome of that review of Josh being short and how it pretty much stopped after they criticized the review. Even stranger, you’ve got 3 broadcast guys: one who is was a high level player for 13 years a broadcaster who’s had a hand in CBS & NFL coverage since 1991 an NFL referee who officiated for 15 years and has since 2018 been an NFL rules analyst All of those guys were in shock they didn’t convert the football. So how come the on field ruling didn’t match? It never does. I’ve seen it countless times where the broadcast booth of experienced people/players and the NFL rules analyst get it wrong Angry is an understatement lol Quote

Given the Ryan Talbot's and Matt Bove's of the world have openly discussed Maxx Crosby and Maxx Crosby's random infatuation with all things Bills since the Raiders season ended, I wonder if there's actually some smoke there. And I'll admit, if we added Maxx Crosby this off-season, I'll believe. We need our Chris Jones. He'd be that. If we continue to go the route of Josh Allen as the only elite player plus a deep/above-average roster around him, eh... It hasn't worked yet, so why am I to believe it will next year with the same coaching staff and front office? 2 Quote

Here it is: The addition of Kincaid was clearly made by Buffalo’s front office with quarterback Josh Allen in mind. Not only did the QB approve of the measure, Allen hinted he was part of the Bills’ decision, even if just ever so slightly, to select Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. “He’s very fluid in his route running. He’s a very fluid ball catcher. He tracks the ball well, so any time you get to add a piece to your offense like that, I can’t help but be excited. He seems like he’s a smart kid,” Allen said via the Buffalo News. “He’s going to help us out a lot.” “We’ll just say I was persistent in my talks with (Brandon) Beane and who I wanted. I was very, very happy with how it happened,” Allen added. Cook and Benford are good but not elite, I agree we need to find another difference maker or two. As much people are going to dog on Kincaid the guy was hurt most of this season so he wasn't able to step up from his very good rookie season. We just need to find a disruptive DE. The question of course is at what cost? As Von Miller looked like he could be it until his injury. Dayo Odeyingbo seems to fit the type of big DEs we like and could see him come on a relatively fair salary to add to the mix if/when we part ways of Von. Trading for guys like Crosby or Garrett just don't seem feasible as need to re-sign guys like Benford, Ty Johnson, Hollins and possibly Cooper this offseason and have to also find a CB to replace Douglas and likely S to replace Hamlin and find a difference making DT (I was all about Bobby Brown in the draft and love to add him as UFA but not sure we could afford him and Odeyingbo). People being sick of KC is even better for their ratings. No different than Brady & the Pats. People tuned in to so many games to watch them hopefully lose lol The only storyline that was as big or bigger than KC making it to the Superbowl was the one we just got… Allen vs Mahomes Bills finally beating the Chiefs to stop the 3 peat. As long as the public is sick of KC they’ll continue to get massive ratings. As long as they have Mahomes (and Reid) they’ll get the ratings. As long as they’re winning, they’ll get the ratings. Alphadawg7 Posted Tuesday at 05:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:16 PM End of the day, its just a game, the fog never lasts too long for me even when the gut punch in the moment is big. And now, (DISCLAIMER: About to get sappy)...I have 2 boys under 2 years old now...so the lingering pain of the games doesn't really exist for me anymore as I just look at them and my incredible wife and remember just how blessed I am with them and then nothing else really matters, no matter what the issue is. And with my wife, I mean I am what seems to be a rare specimen these days where I am not only beyond happily married, but still madly in love with her and sill have a massive crush on her. So for me, that is the only team that matters to me even though in the moments after the loss I was just gutted. I will say this though, the worst part was not having one more game with my oldest son who is 20 months old. During the Chiefs game it was the first time he was cheering, like yelling GOOOOOOOOO along with me and wife during the game and even trying to yell GOOOO Buffalo but couldn't quite get Buffalo right. Would have killed to have one more game of that as by the time next year gets here he will be full talking and it won't be the same. 1 2 Quote

Even if we add a Maxx Crosby I'm not convinced that solves the underlying problems. Quote

We need Keon to become a better route runner, for sure. I guess it depends on your definition of stud WR1.. I don't think we need a 25M+ WR on this team. Solid CB, sure, but I don't view CB2 as a massive issue next year while we still have Benford. Especially if.... ...we draft a big DT to push Daquan Jones to DT3 and have a Maxx Crosby to pair with Ed Oliver on the line. A move like that would not only give us that elite DL player we haven't had, it will also allow Oliver to have more favorable matchups and a DL that actually threatens the opponent will in turn help whoever our CB2 is. Mat68 Posted Tuesday at 05:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:17 PM This is the closest they have been. The score says otherwise but they were right there. Players coming into their prime with Chiefs players exiting theirs is the silver lining. Quote

There's no logical reason as to why our Defense can slow down Kansas City in the regular season, but then completely folds against them every postseason. We just watched the Texans Defense give them fits the week before and that was with an Offense/Special Teams that kept putting them in bad positions. Then KC plays us and we look like a JV team out there on that side of the ball. Can a Maxx Crosby solve that? I don't know.. but it's the only hope I have. 1 Quote

Cannot ever remember a game where the ball consistently was being marked short of first downs for the Bills almost every time. Watched Bills games for 40 years and haven't ever seen anything like that and definitely never heard the announcers incredulous as to it continuing to happen over and over. 2 Quote

quincy Posted Tuesday at 05:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:20 PM In the short term, I will watch the Super Bowl this year, last year I didn't, it will be so interesting where a much better Philly defence matches up against KC. Their DL should get pressure for sure, the Chiefs will hold, the flags will come but who will get the penalty? The opposing matchup is also true with the Chiefs DL versus Eagles OL. I am interested in the trench warfare more than anything else. I am sure in time the doom and gloom will lift and daring to dream resurface, that is human nature I suppose but at this point it isn't rational thinking but blind faith. 1 Quote
