B B B B B B B Brady and the Reffffsssss....oh they're weird and wonderful...... What I’m curious about…. in the 3rd quarter heavy run drive …who was playing DL for chiefs and where were they on the line vs where they ran the ball. Was Jones not in, we’re they running away from him. Quote
popcornpam Posted Tuesday at 05:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:12 PM I think McDermott was calling all those pushes he was nodding in his headphone. He kept saying it was our best play, not if everybody knows it’s coming. I still think he’s a head case doesn’t really want to win the big game. How many years has this been going on? He always says he wants his defense to win it at the end. He was a wrestler so it seems he wants to do it over and over again. I think he needs to see a sports psych. Unfortunately he’s gonna have to be pushed out the door if he doesn’t straighten up. Quote

K-9 Posted Tuesday at 05:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:29 PM The only reason I can think of for having Johnson out there instead of Cook (assuming Cook wasn’t hurt) is Brady preferred to have his best blitz pick-up back out there instead, considering we were in a passing mode. If only Kincaid caught that ball and spared us this damning retrospective. 1 Quote

Regarding Josh having problems identifying pressure and adjusting pressure... what's Mahomes weakness? Because, going off the regular season and the Divisional game against the Texans, it seems like the Chiefs offense can be exposed. And yet, come play off time against the Bills, they can just run up any score they need. 1 Quote

You can't run that offense against the Chiefs! https://arrowheadaddict.com/chiefs-fans-owe-joe-brady-massive-thank-you-note-gift-wrapped-afc-title-01jjmhwtw8r2 I agree how it was a mistake he wasn't more involved especially on the final drive...and I will admit, I wasn't sure about resigning Cook before the season began, wasn't convinced he could be the every down back just on size and stuff. Now, after this season, after him being so effective against stingy run defenses, seeing how essential he was against KC and the lack of more involvement negatively affected the offense, I am all for extending him. I still would want that to be under $10M per year, but I think if we can sign him under $10M per its a worth the signing at this point. 1 Quote
BuffaloBill Posted Tuesday at 05:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:38 PM Ty Johnson is a better blocking back and handles the blitz. 1 Quote

I despised the game plan, especially the first half. Cook was completely underutilized. He was running and catching well! I don’t know why we didn’t ride him more in this game. It was also obvious to me that we had the sugar-high version of Josh to open the game. More running a few dinks to settle him down would have been appropriate. I don’t know wtf we were doing. It was a winnable game. In fact I was underwhelmed with the last two games. Maybe more game prep and less interview prep we get a different outcome! Edited Tuesday at 06:31 PM by PayDaBill$ 2 Quote
billsbackto81 Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM I agree with a lot of what is being said but Brady did have a very good season here with the talent pool he had. Chiefs haven't scored 30 points all season until Sunday. Take that for what it's worth. 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted Tuesday at 06:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:16 PM I think Brady was poor. I still don't understand why Cooper was not featured. Allen's comments about how he accepted his role and how much he loved Cooper were interesting. Not sure what if anything to read into it. Seems like the players didn't understand either why Cooper was not getting more playing time. That said I thought going into the game they could win with a balanced run/pass mix. As the game went on and Brady refused to feature Cooper and Cook was getting huge chunks it made sense to keep running the ball. In the fourth quarter though the 1st down runs went from getting 6-10 yards to getting 1-4 yards. Their D-line was starting to take control. That's where they should have used more play action. Coleman should have never been on the field. It should have been a heavy dose of Knox, Cooper, Shakir, and Samuel on that final drive. 1 Quote

Part of it is talent, but they've dumped a lot of resources in this d over the past 5 seasons and every exit is the same. We allow teams to have literally their best offensive game of their season against us. Mahomes had his best EPA of the year on Sunday, and the highest success rate on drop backs of his career. That's a good measure of how easy it is to move the ball, and that was the easiest game he's ever played. Our coaching is really bad in these games. These guys are chokers and can't come up with anything that works, and while they tend to improve with their adjustments, the performance after the adjustment is still AZZ. Elam is much worse than benford, but the d was actually as bad or worse w benford in because it was early and KC was running scripted plays and ripping our man coverage. Mahomes is great but like anyone he can be tricked and beaten, our coaches just panic and choke and can't do it when it counts 1 1 Quote
jkeerie Posted Tuesday at 06:24 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:24 PM Totally agree with that take. Bills stayed loyal to all their tendencies in that game, which hurt them mightily. That included playing Ty in the final series because of his blocking ability. In essence, Brady didn't pay attention to the game he was playing, but rather relied on games played during the season. He stopped doing what was working and stuck with doing what wasn't. 1 Quote
No_Matter_What Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM My brother is a random football fan from Europe who (like almost nobody on this continent) has never played football or has any idea about X and O's Sometimes through the third quarter he texted me that he didn't get why cold Davis was getting snaps. I told him that it was what we do, rotate RBs. He told me he knew, but it was stupid im this game since it was AFCCG and Cook was extremely hot. So there's that. 1 Quote
Luka Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM Cook is Thurman. He's the engine of this offense. He's a great receiver. An excellent all around player. Coaching staff should've recognized this at this point in the season. 2 1 Quote
somnus00 Posted Tuesday at 06:58 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:58 PM Bills once again got outcoached. Mahomes was running an offense that's designed to provide easy throws. Guys are schemed open consistently. Everything the Bills did just on offense just looked harder. Cook was under-utilized, certainly. Also, KC was the worst in the league at defending TEs. We did just about nothing with Knox and Kincaid. Too many times this season, the defense's game plan was horrible to start the game. Sure they adjust and tighten up in the second half, but they're giving up too much in the first 2 quarters. Giving up 21 to the Chiefs in the first half was terrible. They were getting almost 10 yards a play. 1 Quote

Also Ty Johnson is the third down , hurry up running back. Hes a better pass b!ocker and runs just as good but considering we 333 left on the clock we should have used our regular offense with James Cook. 1 Quote

Were the Bills supposed to score 40-50 points? 1 Quote
