Chiefs trade up for QB Patrick Mahomes at No. 10

https://www.nfl.com/news/chiefs-trade-up-for-qb-patrick-mahomes-at-no-10-0ap3000000803405

The Bills desperately needed a QB when we made this trade.

Chiefs trade up to select Washington DB Trent McDuffie at No. 21

https://www.nfl.com/news/chiefs-trade-up-to-select-washington-db-trent-mcduffie-at-no-21

Which forces our hand to move up and draft Elam...

https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-jump-into-round-one-trade-frenzy-to-land-cb-kaiir-elam

When Bills GM Brandon Beane saw two of the first four picks in the draft were cornerbacks, he thought the Bills might be looking at another position by the time they were on the clock at 25. Fortunately for Buffalo, only one more cornerback came off the board when Kansas City moved up from pick 29 to pick 21 in a trade with New England to take Washington CB Trent McDuffie. Buffalo made a move of their own shortly thereafter to land Florida CB Kaiir Elam as they traded up from pick 25 to 23 in a deal with Baltimore.

Chiefs trade up, pick speedy WR Xavier Worthy in NFL draft

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40027793/chiefs-trade-pick-speedy-wr-xavier-worthy-nfl-draft

We literally have no one but to blame but ourselves. The Chiefs play Chess ,while we play checkers. Top down, they are better at us at everything...Draft, coaching, player development, scouting, game planning, etc...

I don't see how we get over this hump if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

The worst of these with hindsight is Mahomes but it’s the most defensible.

McDuffie v Elam sucks but we just got outfoxed at a position of need.

Giving the Chiefs Worthy is easily the most indefensible. And thus Worthy dropping a hundo on our heads in the AFCCG while Keon Coleman run blocks on passing downs is a sick form of poetic justice for Beane and co. An egregious error.

And unfortunately utterly predictable.

I’m surprised the games have been so close…. Thank you 17

When Allen threw that TD to tie it 29-29 to Samuel on 4th FRICKIN down. I honestly was in awe... He's so frickin great.

A truly all time great QB.

Maybe, maybe not.

But having a coach named Brady was a big mistake of bad juju

Allen is better than Mahomes. He just lacks the trifecta of better coaching/better support cast/refs

It's definitely coaching. You can see it just how the offensive scheme and operation is flowing

Everything is easy for mahomes.

Mahomes has a little something extra that I can’t qualify or quantify. He’s the most clutch QB I ever remember playing, even more so than Brady. If you needed a drive to end with a TD and your literal life depended on it, I would choose Mahomes to get it done. Our guy is great and has been let down by his teammates, but still I can’t ignore how that side of the ball hasn’t been able to capitalize on their opportunity to take the lead aside from the :13 game. And we all know who the other QB was that drove 45 yards in 9 seconds (yes, the Bills defense made it easy on him).

They manufacture everything for Worthy. I don't think he is a true difference maker yet. We'll see.

He sure made a difference last night leading their team in catches and yards from scrimmage and having their only receiving TD.

our guy had 1 catch and 12 yards.

Yeah I know it’s blasphemy but I agree. There’s been 3 QBs in my lifetime that displayed this clutch trait consistently. They’re Montana, Brady, and now Mahomes. No surprise all three have multiple SB’s.

And despite all that. The Bills had the opportunity to win both games on the last possession. Our MVP QB just hasn’t delivered. Gotta call a spade a spade. It’s always a miss throw here, miscommunication error there or a bad play call.

Ultimately when it’s all said and done, people outside of Bills fans will only remember the outcome and not the details.

13 seconds will be a story we tell our grandkids, letting them know that Josh Allen won that game TWICE inside the final 2 minutes, that heroic effort will fade and be forgotten by the masses.

Im Happy with Josh. He's as good as Mahomes. The problem is he has the coaches he has.
drafting has been an issue

scheme has been an issue

They draft better than us

They coach better than us

They scheme better than us

But for the love of God, can we stop trading with them forever.

I didn’t like trading with the Chiefs for Worthy but I still don’t think any of those trades are the biggest factor in the Bills coming up short once again. The number one reason we can’t beat them when it matters is coaching.

McDermott is a terrible in-game decision maker. He’s also supposed to be a defensive genius but our defense has stunk for years against quality opponents. If it wasn’t for the fortunate turnovers and dropped passes the Ravens would have beaten us last week.

He should have been fired after the 13 second game. He’s never been held accountable for any of this team’s failures. If Josh wants to win a Superbowl here he needs to demand ownership take action, but he never would do something like that.
