HOUSE Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Benford was cleared to play just 3 hours before game time and many say he should not have cleared protocols Could mean some disciplinary action by the league... https://www.newsbreak.com/the-us-sun-513995/3779564795103-calls-for-nfl-to-launch-investigation-into-christian-benford-concussion-protocol-following-chiefs-bills Edited January 27 by HOUSE 1 1 1 Quote
Bferra13 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Whatever. Just hope he's okay for his own health. The article is pretty much clickbait. "One fan demanded an investigation by the NFL!" Kewl. 2 4 1 Quote
colin Posted January 27 Posted January 27 he absolutely should not have played, it was so obvious after he got bumped by hamlin. 4 of our 5 starting dbs (maybe all of them if douglas got his head rocked and i didn't know about it) have had concussions or at least nasty looking head on hits, two of them wear the padded helmets. 2 1 2 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Bills hired Tuas concussion doctor right ? 5 Quote
Process Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Pretty sure for away game he would have needed to be cleared prior to the flight to KC. 2 3 Quote
Mr. WEO Posted January 27 Posted January 27 the Bills would never put a guy in there who was just concussed.... 2 1 1 Quote

And their sources are 5 fans? LOL 7 Quote

GETTOTHE50 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Benford probably wanted to go in and compete regardless. Not saying that makes it ok, but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do 1 Quote
HOUSE Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Correct me if wrong but I believe 2 concussions one week apart is an automatic investigation 4 Quote
Bad Things Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Man, he sure didn't look good sitting in that cart, when they drove him off the field. All the best to you, Christian! 1 5 1 Quote
stevewin Posted January 27 Posted January 27 This is dumb. If you have a concussion you are more likely to get another one, even a long period of time later (ask Eric Lindros). There are rules in place for the protocol and he passed them - then took a direct hit to the helmet that probably would have concussed him if he never had one in his life. The protocol would have to include "never play again" to 100% guarantee you wouldn't get another one 2 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I actually thought he looked a little dazed on that breakup to Hollywood Brown too. I think it was the prior play. 1 1 Quote
K-9 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Good. And shame on the Bills medical staff if they’re found to be at fault. That Friday DNP designation for “personal reasons” looks fish as hell if it was just a way to circumvent a third consecutive DNP for “concussion.” 2 2 2 Quote
Ballhawk Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) What makes zero sense to me is the fact that the league doesn't make anyone coming back from concussion protocol wear the helmet sock. Benford collided with Hamlin and you could see he had it, why the heck would Benford not wear one, seems so obvious and easy. Edited January 27 by Ballhawk 3 2 2 Quote
T master Posted January 27 Posted January 27 All of that has to go through folks tied to the league so how could they get around something like that & I would be willing to bet that McD sure as hell ain't going to let a guy go out on the field if he's not fit to play especially with a concussion . I put out a post that said i thought that any one coming back from a concussion that for the firs game it should be mandatory that they have to where the helmet thingy like Hamlin had on . 1 Quote
