This is a huge offseason for Brandon Beane. I’ve been big supporter of his throughout his time as GM but now he needs to make something happen. After last night, I know he has egg on his face right now gifting the Chiefs Xavier Worthy. I know the Diggs contract set him back on what he could do this past offseason but now he’s has to make something shake.

The roster needs playmakers on both sides of the ball.

Whats the fascination with Worthy? It's not like he's BTJ or Nabors. He's a gadget player who's a good hit away from IR.

I didn't see any egg on his face. Do you think he will still have egg on his face during the end of season press conference or will he wash it off?

I couldn't care some much about the worthy vs Coleman pick. We really lost the McDuffie vs Elam pick (I know he was picked in front of us). Not only is McDuffie an all pro level player, Elam is not even serviceable. Unfortunate, because he seems like a really good kid.

That pick hurts.

He doesn’t really have egg on his face for not drafting Worthy.  If he’s guilty of anything it’s drafting Keon Coleman and passing on Ladd McConkey who looks to be the 3rd best WR in the entire draft.

You aren’t wrong though.  He needs to find elite talent

Yep was begging for him. Would have made a difference

That should have been the pick.  Not Coleman

i have my reservations about bradies play calling when it comes to a passing offense and being able to

integrate players and schemes that work together i'll wait and see how next year turns out.

we need bigger defenders on offense?  are you talking about the offensive line?

this is an issue as well because the bills (especially on D) love to draft players off of potential

bigger defense     O line is a strength at least for now

I still don't really get the hate for Beane. We were literally just one game away from the Super Bowl. I swear we could actually win the Lombardi and fans would complain that he got his fingerprints on it and should have worn gloves. We will be fine with him as GM

Ways of the rat ?

Out smarting and driven regardless. there's a reason they have survived so long . Rats

Bulldog reference prolly means something like Dan Campbell's bite the knee kind if mentality which is a fair shot at McD being stubborn

dont necessarily agree :)

 just my two cents again

If no one gets fired for another failed playoff run - nothing is going to change next year.

Beane misses evey year in the draft yet he returns year after year.

How come we have no probowl first round pick?

Beane is the champion meh picks

Sometimes I can’t tell when people are kidding.

You’re worried about Pro Bowl picks? What a joke!  We are playing football games, not collecting merit badges. We barely lost by 3 points to the two-time defending champions in their place in the AFCCG. We do not suck.

For the life of me I don’t understand the Bills thinking on this. The vast majority of GMs and draft analysts had Coleman as a Big Slot WR. The team certainly needed (needs) speed on the outside. Maybe they didn’t like Worthy because of his slight frame - and that is defensible- but I do not see what Coleman really brings to this WR corps, except some size and decent ability after the catch. He’s not fast or agile so he can’t separate at all. And he is not even particularly good at contested catches. I still don’t get it.

Brian Thomas Jr was the guy to get if a trade up was available.  Pretty good track record for LSU receivers in recent years, too.  Coleman does not have much of a ceiling at all, imo.

Go Dawgs!

I love McConkey, but he didn’t make sense for us. Having UGA connections here in ATL it would have been very cool.  He’s just a football player, a guy we would love.

I never subscribed to the “Worthy vs. Coleman” thing. In a draft redo, I still wouldn’t take Worthy but I wouldn’t have taken Coleman either.

As it turned out, the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl again in large part because of the “Worthy vs. Coleman” thing. It matters when your opponent uses the trade to actually defeat you. I'm sure Beane is not self aware enough to realize this fact.

One thing about Worthy before you watch the Eagles shut him down - and let me make sure I’m clear - once Benford left coupled with no Rapp our SECONDARY IS GARBAGE not helped by ZERO PASS RUSH.

Beane needs to find dudes on defense.

Worthy posted the best game of his season against us.

On a full season it would have amounted to 102 catches for 1,445 yards and 17 TDs and a catch% of 85.7%.

FWIW

lot of people saying they wanted Ladd …my recollection at the time during the lead up to the draft,  I don’t recall him being that popular here compared to the likes of Legette, Worthy, Mitchell and even Franklin …

He was more popular than Coleman though ….

I hate to say it, especially given our needs on defense, but OSU's Emeka Egbuka is the player the Bills need to draft in the 1st rd.

Early days and plenty of time for players to rise and fall…  not sure he makes it to 30 as I sit here today …. One I will be keeping an eye on though …

Whose clock?  Our owner is a beta male who turned over control of the team to his wife who is now an invalid.  Now, supposedly their daughter is running the team?  We're stuck with Mcdermott because he hired Beane.  Ass backwards move by Pegula!  So, these two will continue with their circle jerk infinitum while winning on the back of their once in a generation QB.  Maybe the Pegula's will finally make a move when the fans are so sick that they Bills can't sell enough PSL's for their new stadium

I wanted to say as much last night, but no he isn't. He just signed an extension. He just delivered a draft class with mutlitple potential future starters and rotation players. For every 1st round whiff, he unearths a diamond in the rough.

When you pick bottom five of the 1st round every year, drafting superstars is much more difficult. Beane is above average by any calculation.

The real question is when does this regime run its course because at some point you need to change. Teams can't continue to fail doing the same thing over and over. This regime probably has two years, maybe one if we flame out in embarassing fashion early next season.

Technically, this is year 2 of the mini-rebuild. We should have a little more wiggle room under the cap. We have an extra top 60 pick. We have Josh Allen. Despite the last 24 hours, things are looking up.
