BillMafia716ix Posted Monday at 10:27 PM Posted Monday at 10:27 PM (edited) This is a huge offseason for Brandon Beane. I’ve been big supporter of his throughout his time as GM but now he needs to make something happen. After last night, I know he has egg on his face right now gifting the Chiefs Xavier Worthy. I know the Diggs contract set him back on what he could do this past offseason but now he’s has to make something shake. The roster needs playmakers on both sides of the ball. I am not one to rue the Worthy thing. At the time we had Shakir and Samuel, and wanted a bigger possession type target. On offense we need to get another WR and keep Cook and Johnson. Defense I see a splash for a FA rusher, and we need to add to the DBs. Need a minimum of two good CBs. 1 3 2 Quote
LifeLongBillsFan Posted Monday at 10:31 PM Posted Monday at 10:31 PM (edited) If no one gets fired for another failed playoff run - nothing is going to change next year. Beane misses evey year in the draft yet he returns year after year. How come we have no probowl first round pick? Beane is the champion meh picks Edited Monday at 11:46 PM by LifeLongBillsFan 1 2 6 1 1 1 Quote
3rdand12 Posted Monday at 10:32 PM Posted Monday at 10:32 PM I have to ask why Keon Coleman has not been successful at all really Shakir can play But Coleman looks ill fit to win games for Us Is it Coaching ? Or drafting ? I was full on for 2 WRs early last year ! 5 Quote

But you don’t trade with your arch nemesis. You don’t give them what they want. You don’t gift wrap the player they desire and hand it to them with a bow. You don’t deal with your enemies! The players are irrelevant. 5 11 1 3 1 Quote
JMM Posted Monday at 10:36 PM Posted Monday at 10:36 PM Have to take a hard look at this defense approach. Because either it's not good and then McDermott has to be willing to change or Beane has to find a way to find the right players for it, but this D is killing us EVERY YEAR in the playoffs. 6 5 1 2 Quote

I just think his growth and involvement in the offense was stifled. 5 1 3 Quote
Big Blitz Posted Monday at 10:37 PM Posted Monday at 10:37 PM One thing about Worthy before you watch the Eagles shut him down - and let me make sure I’m clear - once Benford left coupled with no Rapp our SECONDARY IS GARBAGE not helped by ZERO PASS RUSH. Beane needs to find dudes on defense. 9 5 2 7 Quote

But Bills cant afford to draft players that take years to develop early rounds. Not sure who to blame here McD Staff of Beane's Elam comes to mind too quickly. 2 1 Quote
Lfod Posted Monday at 10:43 PM Posted Monday at 10:43 PM (edited) I agree because this is the second window and the team came close, even with some glaring flaws. I expect at least some of those flaws should be addressed and they can run it back stronger and have the edge to finish strong. If not I will have to agree with the meltdown crowd and maybe some heads should roll. McDermott needs to learn the ways of the rat. Hes to much like a bulldog. CNYfan Posted Monday at 10:44 PM Posted Monday at 10:44 PM Yes, we need to hit on the 3 picks in the top 65. We need a IDL-1, CB and another stud. I don't rue the worthy thing but was out on Coleman and in on McConkey. 3 3 Quote
zow2 Posted Monday at 10:46 PM Posted Monday at 10:46 PM I’m with you on this. I was a massive Beane backer. But there are some serious cracks and if they don’t get fixed this foundation will fall down. 1 1 Quote

Governor Posted Monday at 11:05 PM Posted Monday at 11:05 PM I never subscribed to the “Worthy vs. Coleman” thing. In a draft redo, I still wouldn’t take Worthy but I wouldn’t have taken Coleman either. 1 4 Quote
Donuts and Doritos Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Here's Beane's 1st round picks: how many made a huge game changing difference last night? 2018 - Josh Allen & Tremaine Edmunds 2019 - Ed Oliver 2020 - No pick (traded to get Diggs) 2021 - Gregory Rousseau 2022 - Kaiir Elam 2023 - Dalton Kincaid 2024 - No pick (traded to KC for a 3rd round DT who was inactive) Allen is the only home run, blue chip, take over a playoff game to get you a championship player. KC has Mahomes, Kelce & Jones (way too early to put Worthy in that convo). Oliver & Rousseau are nice, but they're not top guys at their spots. Elan's a bust & Kincaid is trending in the bust direction. Beane has to hit it Huge. If he doesn't there should be a real evaluation of him & his scouts to see what changes need to be made. Don't have a lot of faith. 3 2 Quote
Sojourner Posted Monday at 11:20 PM Posted Monday at 11:20 PM (edited) Jump to comparison and several of us posters have referenced the Eagles and their changes and success these last few years since yesterdays loss… They had a Super Bowl appearance which they should have won. Failed the next season by getting dumped in the wildcard round to the Bucs. They scrapped their OC and brought in Kellen Moore. Scrapped pretty much all their defensive staff but Fangio as DC was they key. They added: Saquon Barkley Zack Baun CJ Gardner-Johnson Oren Burks Mekhi Beckton They gave new deals to: AJ Brown DeVonta Smith Jordan Maliata Landon Dickerson Reed Blankenship During Hurts taking over their draftees in the first 3 rounds each year have been: 2021 DeVonta Smith Landon Dickerson Milton Williams 2022 Jordan Davis Cam Jurgens Nakobe Dean 2023 Jalen Carter & Nolan Smith none Tyler Steen & Sydney Brown 2024 Quinyon Mitchell Cooper DeJean Jalyx Hunt Out of those draft there’s very few who aren’t key contributors or essential rotational players to their team. We need to hit on the people who possess the elite traits and college production. Coaching is a problem. But so are the players on the field. Need to be better all around and make appropriate changes if/when necessary. Edited Monday at 11:30 PM by Sojourner 6 2 4 Quote

Let’s see if he can stay healthy at 170lbs. However, I was not a fan of the Coleman pick - it dealt forced in that they wanted a bigger boundary receiver. Still, he might develop and he deserves that chance, but they should bring in competition or a viable starter in case he doesn’t develop. If that position was easy to fill, Gabe Davis would not have gotten the FA contract that he did. Kincaid reportedly played with a torn PCL. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have made that catch, but he still has a chance to be good - clearly though there were other good TEs in that draft who have outperformed him so far. I expect he will rehab hard and come back to establish himself as a good player. To your point about needing impact players- I agree. Problem is picking late in each draft makes it much harder to find impact players compared to picking at the top of rounds. Quote
