What does it matter?  Doesn't KC have to decline a lot for it to even matter what we do. Watch out for the bangles and ravens next year too.

Mike Brown is looking for CFL and UFL players as we speak!

Add the Chargers to the list. Despite the playoff loss to the Texans, they had a great 1st year with Harbaugh. They went from 5-12 in 2023 to 11-6 this season.

This was a crucial year for the bills. We fell up short. How much left do we got left before it all fades? Allen is going to be 29 next year, how many more hits can he take before his most crucial part of his game (his legs) is useless? Imo next year it’s book or absolute bust. Allen is in the later part of his career. This is it next year

How did this become a crucial year?

This was a rebuilding year

This was supposed to be a transition year and instead Josh lifted us to one of our best years ever. The window is always open.

Next year with a little more cap space, we can hopefully shore up the secondary and Dline and add a WR playmaker. But Beane has to stop whiffing on high draft picks.

No but we have to win before we can’t with this team. Allen is this team and he’s getting older

So win before its too late. Good thread.

Nope, but I think Beane put that cellophane wrap on the outside of it this morning🤣

Just the wrapping? Ralph...uh...Terry is cheap.

we can keep making the playoffs and losing the same way forever.  we might not be able to have such exciting close losses, but until the division gets way better we are good for a home playoff game any year allen is healthy.

i think allen leaving is a more present risk than his play falling off hard.  i presume they will want to extend him to bring in some talent this offseason, if he plays ball then he's here for a while longer.  if there are any breakdowns in that conversation then i think he's out in a couple of years and then mcd will be leading the team to tough close losses to not be mathematically eliminated from they playoffs in october.

If Josh has two arms and two legs, the Bills can win it. But in the teams current state, it would take a whole lot of luck. Even if we had beat the Chiefs, the Eagles would steam roll this defense. We have the QB, the question is can we build a team around him. Beane has been missing in the first round every year. Free agency has been lackluster. Combine that with a stubborn head coach who's claim to fame is defense and one that has underperformed against every good team its faced and its a mountain that Josh isn't going to climb himself.

I don’t think it’s a window thing. I just think we can’t win with this coach abd this defense. If he’s here we don’t win. That’s where I’m at. This was my last straw. The last bit of optimism. Until he’s gone the run doesn’t start. Because this guy just is not good enough. We just flat out don’t make stops and we don’t make QBs uncomfortable. We scored quite a bit yesterday but it wasn’t easy. And josh was never comfortable. The chiefs defense is coached better than ours. That’s literally inexcusable. If McDermott isn’t a plus for us on D, he’s useless

It's a good question but there isn't really an answer. The window is open as long as Josh is Josh.

But the window is still wide open as long as Josh is here.

That is the answer. As long as Josh is here. So likely 6 more seasons. (And for some perspective, this was his 7th season. So we are halfway through his career)

I think we have a good 5 more seasons depending how well Allen takes care of his body.  His future wife's uncle is body by Jake ,  so that could help.

Let's say another decade goes by with no super bowl.

Allen Has one last hurrah and decides to leave the bills for a different team who ultimately go on to win a super bowl, triumphing over Andy reid and Mahomes, of all people, sending them into retirement.

How much joy would you take in this?  Is it close to the same as if the bills won a super bowl? Because right now I'm having trouble envisioning this team/franchise ever winning a super bowl for our city.
