I went through the draft threads a week or so ago and so the majority advocating for a trade up for Brian Thomas Jr. if he gets to 20.

Really feel we get the #1 seed with him. And this team plays their best @ home.
3 games against top tier QBs away this year and we gave up 35/44/42 points. All in losses.

Defense is the root of our failings and that’s something I can never deny or be reluctant to agree about. But fixing that requires multiple things. We’ve already sunk the resources heavily into it and have seen not a great result.

One singular player could have moved the needle. I love Hollins but when he’s your deep threat it’s not crippling teams. There’s no speed and it’s been a problem all year. Firmly believe the schemes we would have seen last night would be vastly different with a #2 guy who can get second level and on top of a secondary quickly.

If we are addressing anything it’s that, there’s too much needed to fix the defense to be reliable in one offseason.

If he's too crazy for Pittsburgh then he's too crazy for us. Tomlin had AB playing at a Hall of Fame level for years. They release him and the world finds out how much of a nut job he is. Stay away from Pickens

Brown, Claypool, = Pickens... no... just no...

Yea. Not sold. This is a poor receiver group.

we really missed out last year with that group of WRs and we end up picking Coleman. After reading Coleman's profile i was not sold on him. Beane made a mistake in not getting guys who can separate.

The Diggs trade was no where near a failure. They were able to get top 5 production out of him for 3 years. He just wore out his welcome. If Buffalo can get a few elite years out of Pickens to propel them to a SB then I’m all for it. His attitude issues will only make it easier to acquire him. I think the Bills have way better leadership than the Steelers. He actually might like it here especially when he starts putting up real numbers. This WR by committee stuff is only gonna work for so long.

I agree that the Bills need a true WR1. Just not a problem child like Pickens. My point about Diggs is the Bills inability to manage him. Pickens would be 10x worse - especially considering he’s eligible for a new contract now. If you trade for him, then you either give him that huge, new contract this offseason or you risk losing him in a year.

Depends on how free agency and the draft shake out

I will tell you that a second round pick is laughable for a headcase like Pickens, though

Pittsburgh is looking at a fourth rounder at best I would guess, and that's where I'd be if we really didn't make a splash at receiver through FA or the draft

In ABs defense he wasn't crazy in Pitt until Vontaze Burfict went head hunting. This is well documented by his teammates. They said he completely changed. Pickens on the other hand came into the league like this. Hard pass

Should we do it again.  Trade for one of the best WRs in the NFL when said receiver is a headcase?

I'd do it.  Esp. if the cost is a 2nd rounder.  This instantly upgrades our offense and gives us a WR who can do it all: separate, win 1 on 1, etc.  Sure, he is crazy.  I live in Pittsburgh, he's nuts.  But he can ball.  Also, we brought on Steph who was a vet and had sway over Josh.  Pickens would not have that.  We could resign Cooper to have another Vet in the room.  We'd have Cooper, Pickens, Shakir, and Coleman and Hollins (another vet who is a bit mercurial, perhaps he can calm Pickens down).

Besides being a headcase, he's another Diggs who will complain if he's not getting the touches he thinks he should get.

I don’t think Higgins is #1 material. The Bills are armed with 2 second rounders and obv a 1st. This is the year to trade up for a top WR if one of them falls past the top 10. Buffalo is loaded w/ a bunch of good players on offense, Cook being the only elite guy IMO. It’s time to take a swing and move up. The top half of the draft is the only place to find elite WRs unless you get extremely lucky. They have the draft capital to do so.

Nico Collin’s and Terry McClaurin were 3rd picks.  Name two better WRs

He's far worse than Diggs. Diggs was always going to eventually turn into a problem. It's just his makeup. but he was pretty well behaved for 2 years. Maybe 2.5.

I may add 3rd or 4th as a poll option later.  I think they would take a 3rd.  The issue in Steeler land is they will not keep him, so want something for him now prior to contract expiration.

I'm not sure if he is a target complainer, or unhappy/complains when not winning.  He was fine here when Steelers were on a tear, before the drop off.  Could use more guys that hate loosing.

'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' isn't just a song by Green Day.  It's also an apt description of past WR / TE performance while in Buffalo.

Robert Foster. 😢

Zay Jones. 😢

Justin Shorter. 😢

can we afford him.  This would be my preference as well, but highly unlikely.

Can we afford to let a nutjob into our locker room?  I think we could finagle it.  We need a WR 1 desperately, and if we don’t get one in FA, we need to find in draft, which will be expensive and tough to pull off.  Maybe Beane some sleepers, but we most definitely need WRs who can separate

Erm, he likes to spend his time getting in fistfights on the field
