Come on. Reid was McDermott before Mahomes. Mahomes has gone to the title game every year he has started. He might win his 4th SB and 3rd after trading Tyreek Hill. They lost their best wr this year, had a key one get hurt for most of the year, have garbage OTs, and lost one game. 
 

the pretzel some fans do to try and discredit mahomes is such a cope. It’s why I can’t even get as mad as I want. He will make the winning plays when he needs to.

Let’s not pretend like coaching didn’t factor into the development of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City has by far the better coaching staff.

 

Mahomes has Reid. Allen had Dennison, Daboll, Dorsey and Brady. No contest. They also have the better D too. For McD being a defensive connoisseur, boy are his defenses soft. His defenses get out coached time and time again. Soft.

You don't think that if we gave Allen to the Chiefs, this same thing would be happening?

Coaching does matter, and not only do we have Reid to deal with, but Spags is also elite at his job.

Supporting cast as well.  Chiefs have at least 3 players going to the HOF, if not more.

Would love to see Mahomes throwing to Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes instead of Hill and Kelce. Would have been quite entertaining.

Love Josh as we all do.  To me he is better physically at playing QB than Mahomes.  But Mahomes is better at reading defenses and pre-snap adjustments.   Mahomes is right there with Brady on that.

 

Put it this way:  on our last 4th down play Josh said he should have adjusted protection.  I’d bet Mahomes reads that and checks to a successful play .

Well... I kinda did... It should be somewhere in my history here... I thought he was the clear #1 overall player in that Draft. Though admittedly he is even better than I thought he would be. I thought he would be a more accurate Brett Favre...

That's not really 100 percent accurate in the sense that there WAS a lot of interest in taking him high. KC traded with the Bills because they were certain that Sean Payton/Loomis were going to take him at 11. It's interesting to think about Mahomes in a Payton system. He probably would have performed similarly.
