Mahomes outplayed Allen AGAIN yesterday,a nd he looked cool as a cucumber doing it. The game has never been too big for him - not once. Mahomes is in a tier of 1 right now and in a tier of 2 all-time. It's him and Brady - that's it.

he was playing in a 7 on 7 drill for 90% of the game at home.  Allen was on the road against the best blitzing team in the league.  Allen was under pressure from the first snap of the game until the last and he stood in there and made great throws all night.  

 

Mahomes missed some throws and fumbled.  Anytime he was under any pressure which was very little he looked pretty different and not cool as a cucumber.

I was trying to draw up a reply but you did it for me. Does anyone honestly think Josh would have looked so flustered against the Bills defense? And vice versa. As you say, when Mahomes was put under pressure he looked anything but cool.

Not saying Mahomes isn't great because he is, but comparing the two when Mahomes was playing against our lousy D when Josh was playing the KC D that has carried them all year isn't really fair.

 

I think Josh would shred our D too.  They are comparable talent-wise, with Mahomes given the edge based on resume.

I don't look at it that we "gave" Mahomes to KC.  Reason is we were never drafting him.  The Bills would've made their pick (not for Pat),  the Chiefs may have traded with the next team and gotten him.

You think that's funny, stop to consider that we're tied to this defensive philosophy that has prevented Allen from winning a SB because it belongs to the HC whereas when KC realized they had a defensive problem that was hindering their eventual HOF QB's chances they brought in Spags because they could. Now THAT'S a real knee slapper.

He needed every break imaginable to go his way, every officiating call to go his way, and a complete meltdown by our coaching staff to beat us by three - at home, no less.

 

There's a reason Allen the has better playoff head-to-head stats yet still loses over and over again to Mahomes, and it's not because he's getting outplayed.

Yes, I do. At least in the beginning of games. That’s who Allen is. He gets himself too hyped up in big games. It takes him a little to settle down. Whereas Mahomes is ready to go in big games from the get go. That’s not coaching or anything external. It’s their personality. One has his emotions under control at all times and the other not so much.

Mahomes is 17-3 in the playoffs. Josh is 7-6.

Any other stat is supplementary.
