So I didn't get NFL Sunday ticket this year for the first time in my adult life. I did not watch NFL games other then the Bills this year.

I don't think I can stop being a Bills fan, but I'm going to stop watching (live) football next year. No fantasy as well.

Maybe watch highlights but at this point I'm a grown man trying to live my life (with all the normal life things like so many others: wife, kid, a job, etc). I don't need to keep watching stuff that doesn't bring joy and only anguish.(regular season wins are meaningless winning is expected and losses are catastrophic for trying to get the all elusive #1 seed). Being good but coming short I think is worse then the drought.

But at the end of the day, even if I were a Patriots or Chiefs fan, how is my life any different today?

I won't stop being a fan but I use to be a huge Yankees fan and you know what supposedly they went to the World Series this year... I didn't watcha single inning of Yankees baseball all year.

Meh, I was skiing yesterday, and was fine with seeing the game, or not seeing the game.  I got home late and watched, and it felt like Deja Vu.  I'm going skiing again two Sundays.

I love the Bills, but they're not going to be much different next season, because McDermott will be here again.  Look, we used to watch meaningless football in November most seasons.  Now we watch in amazement as we lose to the perhaps the best Coach/ Franchise to ever play this game, when maybe a Kincaid clutch catch breaks their backs.  Its really exciting, even if we usually lose.

The Bills, are a broken record, until something changes, I expect that records to continue to spin around...

Sir you missed a fantastic yankee season.  Truly enjoyable.  John Sterling came back and called the playoffs and he was amazing.

They have built an excellent team for this year also.  Best pitching staff they have had since the late 90's imo.

Aaron Judge and Josh Allen are one in the same.  Great people, great players who are worth rooting for.

I hope you can find your way back to yankees baseball this summer.

I'm in a bad mental spot. I'm sure many of you are.

What are you doing to get out of it? No sarcastic responses, please.

We can make any excuses we want - the refs, the defense, McDermott, etc. - but the fact is they were so close... again... and same result. It feels pointless to continue as a fan.

Nothing, we can do nothing. Terry wont make changes so its going to be the same.

went out in the garage played basketball with my GF's eight year old son yesterday toward the back half of the second quarter.   He laughed the whole time, he loves it.  I don't regret missing football for moments like that.

Its entertainment, and its a game.  in the end, it wont make any difference in your life in any tangible way.

I allow myself 30m after normal losses to just absolutly explode and vent.  The game did it to me, and I have a right.  After that, I feel it's me choosing to continue to make myself miserable.  I used to let it ruin my night, and even the next day.  It wasn't worth it.  It was a philosophical change that worked wonders.

This game took longer.  I allowed myself to rampage last night, this morning, and even my drive into work.  Once I punched in, I was done.  Am I still occasionally getting melancholic?  Yeah, but it's not tearing me apart.

Hope that helps, in some way.

Yesterday hurt pretty bad. At the end of the day it is just a game. yes the Superbowl is a goal we'd all like but it's not the most important thing in life.

just stay away from sports media for a while. That might help

Nice. For the Yankees, it was really just a time thing for me more then anything else. I've seen them win all of their other WS since 96 so winning/losing anymore with them doesn't bother me. It was the time.

In times like this I just take a moment to look upon the faces of my sleeping children and my wife of 20 years, then I quickly realize I have far bigger things to be depressed about than the Buffalo Bills

That’s where I’m at.  It took me a while to get here.

And I get it but the whole “just one before I die” is so overdramatic and stupid.   Being a Bills fan is a hobby but it’s not our life’s work.

It used to bother me that Buffalo has never won a Super Bowl but unless it happened within the decade (maybe less) I’m pretty sure it doesn’t feel like it matters.

Let’s say we won the Super Bowl in 1991, losing the game last season does’t make the loss yesterday easier.

That’s why I laugh at all these Dolphins and Jets who boast about championships that happened over 50 year ago.   It means about as much as 65 and 66 AFL Championships.

I'm over it. You literally just have to force yourself. It takes willpower. After the loss, I took a deep breath and let it go. It's just sports. It's just entertainment. I'm a grown man and won't allow it to get me down. Does it suck? Yes. Is it disappointing? Yes. So, leave it at that. It doesn't have to mean anything more and it certainly does not have to impact your mood.

Not allowing myself to get in a funk in the first place over something I have absolutely no control over.

Win or lose, I was gonna be over the result in five minutes last night. It didn’t even take that long. Just a tip of the hat to the Chiefs, a thanks for another thrilling season that NOBODY expected going into it, and then looking forward to another shot next season.

I was in a rough spot last night as I'm sure most of you were.

I kind of just put my face in my hands while my elbows rested on the counter and closed my eyes.

When I opened them, I saw the photos of my kids smiling on the counter and that cheered me up a bit.

I then thought, I need to focus and put more energy into the things that I can control - not as much into the things I can't.

With that renewed focus, I got a workout in today and am focusing on what I can control.

I have a new guitar arriving this week. In the back of my mind I knew I’d have that as my little thing to look forward to this week if the game turned out the way it did. Gotta find the joy where we can.

I was happy we beat Denver and Baltimore of course,,, but during the games i didn't feel the joy of watching sports...i just feel nervous and anxious during the games until they are either a blowout in our favor or the clock shows 0:00.  Same as last night.  It shouldn't be that way but it's the expectations of either win it all or failure.  Sometimes i turn my head away or look at my phone while listening to the call on TV.

I hear you, man. This one hurt more than any of the others because I allowed myself to feel like we were winning. I was so sure of it when we had the ball, including on the last drive. I Couldn’t sleep last night.

i actually even thought of just giving up on the NFL and the Bills altogether. Why put myself through this? But having a few young kids who are die hard fans— I can’t do that.

just trying to not think about it….
