I'm in a bad mental spot. I'm sure many of you are.

What are you doing to get out of it? No sarcastic responses, please.

We can make any excuses we want - the refs, the defense, McDermott, etc. - but the fact is they were so close... again... and same result. It feels pointless to continue as a fan.

It took me until the 13 seconds game years ago to realize something. After that game I spent a few months in a depression. Then as the next season approached I saw photos of a few players. Poyer, Allen Diggs and others. In I believe it was Bermuda. Beautiful sandy beaches and beautiful women. All smiles having fun. And it was like, a revelation.

It's just football. It's a game played by others that I have no control over the outcome of. I have fun with family and friends watching and discovering...but it won't have any influence over my life, my mood or my outlook. It's a hobby and doesn't define me as a person.

Disconnect from the Bills for a little. Clear your mind. Do other things you enjoy. It's literally a game .

The way I see it, there’s already so much in the world that can weigh on our mental health—things we can’t control.

But out of all the problems someone could face, where does “my favorite team has never won a championship” really rank? In the grand scheme of things, it’s pretty insignificant.

Sure, this loss hurts right now, but in a few weeks, maybe less, it will mean nothing. Unless you play for or work with the Bills, this loss shouldn’t have any real impact on your life.

I’ll bummed for awhile every time I think of the Bills-  my football fix will be filled by watching DL, WR, CB and RB prospects.  Not because we need a RB, but because I love watching RB tape.  Especially that Jeanty kid. I hope he ends up in the NFC.

Other than that, I’m going to invest the extra time I have into my wife, family and work.  Also getting outside more and riding my mountain bike in beautiful Utah.

In recent years, I've taken an extended break from the NFL after the Bills have been eliminated.  I don't watch any NFL coverage.  I treat "Bills season" like I do a holiday - it has a defined beginning and end.  It always concludes.  I lower the bad food and booze intake, and fill the weekends with projects or other activities. I try to keep my mind focused on spring and 1-2 things I want to accomplish this year.  Key is always have something to look forward to.

I struggle with the depths of the winter season and finding new hobbies and new things to do now that all of my children are grown, so taking a break from football is part of the life "improvements" plan.

In times like this I just take a moment to look upon the faces of my sleeping children and my wife of 20 years, then I quickly realize I have far bigger things to be depressed about than the Buffalo Bills

Just think back to where you REALISTICALLY thought this team was going to end up before the season started.

It has by far exceed my expectations, so yes while I would have loved for them to win last night, I'm over the moon they got this far.

It’s only a game and you can’t have your whole life focused on an outcome you have no control over. I love the Bills and am totally bummed right now, but the meaning and joy I get out of life far surpasses what happens with a Bills game.

I'm  done with the NFL this season and will not be watching the Super Bowl. Everyone who is a Bills (NFL) fan should boycott the game and not give them ratings. I'm seriously considering being done with it all together.

It's more a pop-culture extravaganza than it is a football game anyway.  So annoying in so many aspects.

Do you think a tweet or a stat is going to make me believe for a fact that we’ll never beat the chiefs?

Yes-  our defense sucks- but if we don’t lose Benford, get stuffed on Tush pushes, drop passes on 4th and 5 and get the short end of the stick on spots and calls.

i don’t believe the breaks will always fall in their favor.  They create a lot of their break by executing plays- but they also take advantage of their luck.

imagine if mcduffie had gotten injured instead of Benford. If the KC line judge had taken the ball and spotted instead of the ref that had joshes back to him?  If Kincaid caught the dam ball.

I don’t believe that the KC mystique is so good that we can’t beat them in the playoffs. We just haven’t yet.  But we will.

the mcd haters will just have to be sad and cry about him for another year and hope that their wrong.  The others will be just as fired up for next season as ever

I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love competition. The AFC is a gauntlet right now. It’s going to feel so good when we finally slay the dragon.

Keep chopping!

The 9th time's the charm then?

i'm already over it.  i've condition myself over the years to not get too low or bummed out after a bills loss.   i just let the busyness of life take over and look forward to everything else.  to me this is just an annoying way to start the week, and i'll quickly move on.

Life goes on. As bad as it feels and as cliche as it sounds, this builds character. If life was perfect and you had nothing to prove then what would motivate you? Hopefully the team uses this as fuel to progress to the next level of whatever their goals are. And if and when they do win, it will be that much more meaningful.

If you haven't had your fill, here's another steaming pile.

I'm not watching. I think they may see a slight dip in ratings but doubt it is substantial at all.
