People rag on Miller but he was playing great a couple years ago till he tore his ACL.  But his time here now is done; we save around 8 million in cap space I think if we move on.

Wow guys get held all the time? I didn't know that. And how often does even the best pass rushers get to the QB when they are held very badly? It significantly lowers their chances. He was held really bad a few times. Like literal arm bar around the neck held. But sure, that doesn't matter

For a guy who tore his ACL at 33, I think he was a pretty solid player this year. You just can't compare him to his prime years.

 

I think that next year, he would likely still be better than a lot of rotational guys, but it would have to be cheap - because he is a rotational guy, not a superstar.

Miller is done as a Bill.  The DL sucks.  Groot & Oliver are 50-50…as in 50% good games, 50% invisible.  The rest of the line should be sent packing.  
 

All these years later with FA and draft picks spent,  and still just trash.

It's a scheme issue as much as it is a Von issue.  No D-Line player looks particularly good in McD's scheme.

I actually think it’s a pretty good comparison. Both players got a lot of pressures, but never got the sack. I felt like Von was pretty bad this season, but people would point to the pressures like they mean anything.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but Mario Williams was worse. Paying a pass rusher that kind of money when the team doesn't have a QB and therefore no chance of winning is a waste of money from the outset. Also, signing TO and giving him the key to the city was just embarrassing. Von Miller was a swing for the fences by a contending team.  It didn't work out, but I don't blame Beane for trying.

While we're naming names, add Groot to the list of no-shows last night.  He spent more time on the ground than upright.  I don't think we pay him or at least I think we shouldn't.  Another Edmunds situation as far as I'm concerned.  He just never showed me enough and never shined-through when we needed it most.

true.. Unfortunate that we never got the real Von in the three years he was here.   It is really tough when injuries wreck havoc.

One play I saw, the d-lineman had his hand wrapped around Groots facemask, pushing his head straight up, meanwhile another player punched him in the head at least twice. I thought that has to be a flag ... I was mistaken.
