So you think the Bills should give Cook the Barkley contract because they already had him? Uhhh ok. Barkley was a free agent, if they wanted to give a big contract to a RB they could have had the best. Are you suggesting Cook is as good as Barkley?

Absolutely not. Saquon is the definition of Elite

i sure do think Bills would be wise to keep Cook in the fold with his next contract. But of course at fair market value. Little bit more or little bit less :)

have we ever really had a pass rush under McD? im a full supporter of him. But Im just not sure this defense enables a dominant pass rush.

The 21 team was really good but not great in the pass rush.

The beginning of 22 was really good too. But Von got hurt and so did Oliver , Rousseau was banged up too

I wouldn't complain with Crosby, but I'd rather pay that money to a guy like Higgins and give up no draft capital.

BOTH ! And we win the Offseason !

I have no faith that if he does come here he won't be a letdown like our defensive line is every season. There is a system problem with that unit IMO

Lots of truth to this. A more aggressive approach needs to be implemented.

I think you are missing the point that Cook's next contract will be in the ballpark of Barkley. The Bills could have had Barkley if they wanted an expensive RB. All signs point to teams moving away from that trend. And if so my suggestion is to trade him now while he has high value if it helps us fix our defense

KC for instance had a RB off the couch for pennies and no number 1 WR. It seems more likely that the Bills will follow their lead in that regard.

I guess i dont feel it will be near that cost , so I may or may not have missed that point ?

BTW  I think Cook is a great fit in this Offense with Kromer and Brady, and the design of our O line

Worked fairly well all year , and forgot about the run game against chefs :(

Invest in your strengths.

I would not have brought in Barkley last year. Financially difficult

This years budget is looking like we will have some fun money for FA etc

Go Bills

I am turning to a " It's both " concept
Players and Scheme

Time to fit some well above average  to Outstanding players to an evolving scheme.

And that would be a massive mistake.

The Bills are not the Chiefs and should not be copying them in hopes of replicating their success.  They should be charting their own path forward in an effort to topple them.

The Bears trade for Khalil Mack could be comparable since both 27. The Bears gave up first-round picks in 2019 and 2020, a third-round pick in 2020 and a sixth-round pick in 2019 to acquire Mack.  In return, the Bears also received a second-round pick in 2020 and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2020.

Or Bills get

Maxx Crosby

Raiders 2nd in 2026

conditional 5th in 2026

Raiders get

Bills 1st 2025

Bills 1st in 2026

Bills 3rd in 2026

Bills 6th in 2025

I’d rather trade for Garrett.  Better find in McDs system

I don't think the comp is that easy.

Mack had just 4 years of mileage and had barely missed a snap while Crosby has 6 years of mileage and is a bit older (and had a down year due to injury).

Mack was also a 2 time first team All Pro and had been the NFLDPOY a season prior to the season he was traded after.   Crosby has accomplished none of those things in 6 years.

That's not to discount Crosby, he is a great player......... but I don't think you give as much credit to Mack's true value at the time.

The NFLDPOY candidate pass rushers today(Garrett, Crosby, Watt, Hendrickson) are all grizzled vets compared to Mack winning it in just year 3.   Youth and low mileage adds big trade value in the NFL.

Not sure there could be a DL trade comp today that's apples to apples with that blockbuster.   In hindsight Mack dropped down a tier after his second place NFLDPOY finish in year 6 so we tend to view him in a different light but he was the cream of the crop on the edge back then.

I’m heavily leaning towards you being right about that.

Their faces in those pictures are going to be extremely accurate if that trade happens…

Raiders will get better .. Brady making decisions now instead of Bowl Cut
