He’d be great to have but would be completely wasted here. This guys defense is a joke. And we rotate guys out so much, he’d be playing half the snaps. It’s just pointless. Until there’s a new DC and McDermotts scheme is gone, don’t even bother

I've been saying this for years.  It doesn't matter if you bring all the talent in the world... max crosby, Khalil mack etc. Until a coaching change is made it won't matter.

No,  our defense was very good before Von tore up his knee.

Crosby would still be a star here.

What does disaster mean?  A first year DC that has shown his ability to adjust every week shows a lot of success.  Most takeaways for defense shows success too.  Now obviously, he's not perfect.  The run D needs some help and he needs to figure out first drive TDs but I think he has done well especially with some of the personnel

Guess people will have different definitions... Disaster to me is 30th in the league in getting off the field on 3rd down, 29th in the league in most first downs given up despite the fact we have an offense that controls the ball like very few others. I agree and did mention personel deficits the lack of a game wrecker killed this team as it made the personel ineffectiveness much more obvious. Quite honestly the lack of over all aggressiveness is concerning unless you are talking about the fact his players were out of position running around like chickens and mostly knocking each other out like keystone cops. The majority of our injuries to DBs were friendly fire... Maybe it is all the players and he is the next coming of Bill Parcells...who knows and not that you are saying that...  but i see it as a mess that needs to be fixed. By way I think there is plenty of blame to go around including him and Beane for the drafting and construction of that unit. That being said it's fixable and I am hopeful they show improvement next year with or without him . But i am not colored impressed by him at all

I have no faith that if he does come here he won't be a letdown like our defensive line is every season. There is a system problem with that unit IMO

Sytem = Mcdermott

I think Jamar Chase and DK Metcalf could be had in trade for the right price.

Chase would be incredible because he is the much better player........but he might not fit the culture.

Metcalf would be a great culture fit and likely much cheaper to acquire and extend but he's not automatic like Chase.

I'm skeptical that Tee Higgins and Allen would be a great fit because nobody delivers perfectly placed passes like Burrow so not sure how he'd fit in Buffalo with his modest athleticism.

I'd hope that Metcalf would be attainable with the 2 second round picks or hopefully even less if he pushes his way out of Seattle by asking for a contract extension.   The Chiefs were after Metcalf last offseason so I'd suspect they will be again so might even serve to block them from getting what they want if the Bills dealt for him.

A Chase deal would start with a #1 and probably require another #1.   Garrett would seem like the same price to me, two #1's.   Those 26' picks might be particularly valuable to teams like Seattle and Cleveland playing with bridge QB's.

I mean a Garrett and Metcalf offseason wouldn't be entirely out of the question even if very unlikely.    Maybe they take lesser extensions to play with Josh Allen?

I would trade an entire draft class for Garrett and Metcalf, fill the rest of the roster in with FA filler, and take my chances.

The Raiders have a new coach and are going to want a new QB. They might be able to grab one at #6 overall, but could need more ammo to move up even higher or extra picks to supply their rookie QB with weapons & blocking. There have been trade rumors floating around and personally I don’t think an elite DE in his prime is going to have much patience for a regime change and a new QB to develop.

Unlike Von Miller, Crosby is not going to be a rental. He is only 27 years old and someone you can build the entire defense around. Beane absolutely needs to give up whatever it takes to get him. They certainly have the draft capital to do so. I think he is well worth a first rounder and one of our fourths, but a 2nd plus someone like Kincaid could work as well. He is a fantastic fit for the Bills. Paired up with Rousseau on the other side would make a lethal duo w/ AJE rotating in.

We all know the defense has been absolute dog ***** in the postseason especially the pass rush. Mahomes absolutely embarrassed the Bills D scrambling around the pocket evading the rush like Pac-Man. A player like Crosby would have an immediate impact and propel Buffalo to being SB favorites. I think he would be the perfect fit on the field and the locker room. It makes too much sense. He would instantly become our best player on that side of the ball.

The 9 million we save from cutting Von Miller plus another year removed from that awful Stefon Diggs cap hit, the Bills can finally make a big splash & add some juice to this inconsistent pass rush. Beane has been hit or miss when it comes to the 1st round. A proven player would make much more sense. Even if Beane did hit on round 1, they will most likely need 2-3 years to develop. We saw the impact Diggs made (despite his untimely exit) propelling us from the wildcard round to an AFC Championship. If you disagree with me, don’t just downvote my post. Give me a reason. 👍

I like the idea.

Our first round pick is really a high 2nd, so I won't miss it. Go for it!

Double edged sword for me.

On the one hand, it would probably (IMO) take multiple day 1 and 2 draft picks to get him....and we need those picks for a lot of hole filling on that defense. On the other hand, Beane's early picks have been mediocre the last few years. So not sure he would spend them on the right guys anyway.

Can't part with our first, we need more guys like Elam/Kincaid/Coleman!

Jocularity, jocularity.

I'm not dismissing Kincaid, nor am I giving up on Coleman after one season.

Not interested in him. Big name that doesn't fit his $$/production.

Hes been the only piece on that entire defense, let alone defensive line.

Getting a guy like him would not only unlock Oliver more, but also allow Rousseau advantageous matchups should we decide to keep him.

IMO, adding a guy like him, who would immediately be a locker room fit and fan favorite, not only gives us a guy in his prime that can get us a bucket, but also elevates two other guys on this line.  Keep one of our seconds and add a big DT next to Oliver and all of a sudden we turn our constant weakness into a potential game changing strength.
