Low Positive Posted Monday at 03:27 PM Posted Monday at 03:27 PM They can create over 7 million in space by releasing Von Miller. That's just the start. 6 1 1 Quote
Pete Posted Monday at 03:28 PM Posted Monday at 03:28 PM Easily to work under. And substantially better than last season. 4 3 Quote
Beast Posted Monday at 03:28 PM Posted Monday at 03:28 PM They will be good with cap room. A lot better than they were last season. 2 Quote
DCofNC Posted Monday at 03:29 PM Posted Monday at 03:29 PM Yep… a team in desperate need of talent, had no cap room to improve the last 3 years running and continued 1st round busts.. it’s awesome. 3 4 3 1 4 2 Quote
billsfan714 Posted Monday at 03:30 PM Posted Monday at 03:30 PM (edited) Maybe Beane can trade more 3rd and 4th rounders and lockup backup TEs to big money and a has been 32 year old speed rusher. Then we can wonder why we have no depth in the secondary. Edited Monday at 03:31 PM by billsfan714 5 3 1 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted Monday at 03:31 PM Posted Monday at 03:31 PM Things are likely going to be tight again …although won’t be as bad as 2024 … First question I have …. is Josh playing in 2025 for $14 million as per under his current deal ? Quote

I think if they do that after 6/1, they can have like $16 Million from cutting Miller, but the $9 Million would go to 2026. I wonder if they do that Quote
K D Posted Monday at 03:33 PM Posted Monday at 03:33 PM The cap isn't real. Look at the Eagles. They outspend us on every position it seems. Don't make no sense. 2 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted Monday at 03:34 PM Posted Monday at 03:34 PM 4 minutes ago, JP51 said: I guess I will never understand the cap truly... I just keep hearing we are in much better position next year. Basically, when you restructure contracts or release people you can change when certain dollars are allocated to the cap. For example, Josh Allen’s cap hit is scheduled to be $43.2M in 2025. When they give him his new deal that number will be WAY less. Bonuses can be spread over multiple years. When you hear, “they are converting the base salary to a signing bonus” what they are doing is writing a check to the player but spreading the cap hit over multiple years. If you convert a $40M base into a signing bonus over 4 years (for example) you take the cap hit from $40M to $10M, $10M, $10M, $10M. You kick the can down the road. 5 2 1 Quote
Chugga Posted Monday at 03:35 PM Posted Monday at 03:35 PM While I know that’s not the true “number” and we’ll find space when the time comes. There is a part of that, that is super troubling because outside of Josh (and now Cook) we don’t have game wreckers or changers on this team. When you look at the late playoff teams they have their franchise QBs AND Kyle Hamilton AND Derrick Henry AND top rated o-lines AND Chris Jones AND Saquon Barkley AND top WR duos in the league AND insane defensive lines. So much of our money is tied up paying good football players great football player money. While these other elite playoff teams paying their stars accordingly. 2 2 1 Quote
Cray51 Posted Monday at 03:35 PM Posted Monday at 03:35 PM Miller will be cut Allen extension to drop the cap hit Trubisky cut saves 2.5M They will have no issues not only making it under the cap, but also having money to spend - whether on resigning players or adding talent to the roster 5 Quote

They continue to hit in draft picks, Carter is destroying OLs and Dejean (who SHOULD have been the Bills pick) has been locking people down, they continue to replace high performers with high performers on the cheap, through the draft, the way it’s intended. 2 1 Quote

Thought we had more cap space after the purge last off-season. Josh, Von, Oliver, Dawkins, Milano, Knox and Rousseau account for $151 million of cap space. Expected cap is $265-275. Cutting Von is 8.3 million in savings. Cutting any of the other guys would lead to negative cap space. Restructure Allen and convert base to signing bonus like last year? Bills cap space Quote
ShakAttack Posted Monday at 03:42 PM Posted Monday at 03:42 PM I envy how quickly some fans are able to turn the page and think about the future. Truly. I guess there is not much else you can do, but still, I am too far down in the dumps to even think that way. If you aren't KC, you make the AFCCG once every 4-5 years, at best. How old will Allen be by that time? 32? 33? Guess we better find a way to get there sooner. And if/when we do it could very well be his last shot at it. 1 Quote
