What's your confidence level in Brandon Beane as the GM? He certainly hit big with Josh Allen and has added some good players such as Shakir, Bernard, and Cook. He's also missed big time on Von Miller, Elam, Cooper, Diggs contract, almost every DL draft pick.

What is your current confidence level and do you have high hopes for the future with Beane as GM?

He’s a good, competent GM. He really is.  It’s a very tough job and the hit rates for the best GMs aren’t that high. He’s doing well in that regard. My only real complaints about him are that he hasn’t hit on any elite talent (other than obviously Allen) and that he has focused so much on the defensive side of the ball that it’s been detrimental to the offense.

He's better in the back end of drafts than early on, and I'd rather have that then the opposite because I think the later rounds are much harder to predict.

The cap was pretty damning this season but that's mostly fixed moving forward.

Beane is fine.

Will he admit his staff hasn't been good and make changes there?  If he won't, then he needs to go.  Someone needs to be held responsible for all these misses in the first three rounds.  It's unacceptable.  Youtube GM's could see the faults in Keon Coleman, yet Beane has this entire other vision, where he is flat out wrong on.  Is that Beane seeing this vision, or is someone on his staff telling him these incorrect assessments?

He makes good veteran acquisitions (Von Miller is a big exception) but is lousy at drafting outside of Allen.  He's gotten some good late round picks (Milano, Benford, Shakir) but his first 3 rounds have been bottom quarter of the league.  (This is not a knee jerk reaction, this is exactly what I've felt for a couple years BTW.)

I think I want to wait to hear him speak to the media this week before I decide. I want to see if he has learned anything over the last few years

After the 2020 AFC Title game he said something along the lines of "Yeah we feel we are close. Real close. Just a few small tweaks and we will run it back with this staff and this team." And we see it hasn't happened.

I want to see if he's finally willing to admit that there needs to be at least one season where they say "ALL IN". And no, I don't wanna hear a damn thing about being right to the cap. Every flipping year the Saints start ot $50M+ over the cap, get under it, and still have enough to grab players like Chase Young, Honey Badger ect.

Time to move on from some of the staff as well. Coach Smiley. From everything I've heard...great guy. Well liked. Well once upon a time Andy Reid likes a great guy who he likes a lot named Sean McDermott....but still knew he needed a change at DC and made it. Guy needs to go. Needed to go last year. His units by and large were complete ass. Babich. I thought did ok as a first time play caller. Good coach at the Xs and Os....but his side of the ball isn't stacked with the Jimmy's and Joe's. Maybe bring Eric Washington back who the Bears didn't retain to help out.

I came on here almost a year ago screaming about not having any starting safeties on this team. How does that even happen? You end the season with no safeties, go all the way through the draft, and still don’t have a quality starting safety? That’s a position you should have 3-4 extra laying around. Who is hogging up these roster spots? Bishop was Beane’s answer to the safety position? Lol

As far as I’m concerned, Hamlin and Rapp were playing way over their heads all season. Neither one is starter quality.

All signs point to Beane.

The cap is still a mess and he's whiffed on a lot of early round draft picks. His only saving grace is that he drafted Josh who covers up a lot of his short comings as a talent evaluator. This roster isn't very talented and it's hard to see how things get fixed unless he magically starts drafting immediate impact players.

He rock solid, and makes some good moves... But he also has made a few moves that are questionable.

McDermott and Beane are going nowhere so any thoughts about it are a waste of time

I’m blaming the coaching over the GM. I’ve seen coaches win with a lot less, other than Mac Jones, Bo Nix and a games against Lamar Jackson have we ever put together a good defensive gameplan in the playoffs? All the draft picks and money dumped into the defense since McDermott has been here you’d think we should have a Super Bowl caliber defense by now!

Elam - bust

Basham - bust

Epenesa - marginal starter

Edmunds - good starter but left

Phillips - good starter but left

Bishop - jury is out but no impact yr 1

Carter - jury is out but no impact yr 1

D. Williams - spot starter

All these guys were drafted rounds 1-3 and not one of them is a high impact player. Epenesa is the only player that received a second contract….probably should’ve re-signed Phillips and let Epenesa walk.

We need to re-think the defensive scheme And the type of players we draft. Big D-lineman, thumper LB, and man corners.

it’s clear that that’s the sort of defense we have to run to beat these playoff teams.

And no more slow safeties

He makes his living on mid to late round picks being solid but unspectacular players. His last three top picks Elam, Kincaid, and Coleman have been ok to awful. His signing of Von Miller cause he missed on Edge Rushers handicapped them salary cap wise for a couple years. He’s lucky he has Allen.

Our lack of first round difference makers (and 2nd round outside of Cook) is really the difference between us and the chiefs at this point I think

This is what bugs me, the picks of Elam/Kincaid/Coleman are looking bad. But on the flipside, they are able to draft other good players later in the draft, so I don't get it at all.
