Nah dude. Elam was pretty poor but he wasn’t atrocious. They only scored 2 times in the second half and most of that wasn’t on him for them moving the ball. 
 

He gave up one catch and an interference call. The catch on the FG and the DPI on a punt. 
 

The Chiefs ran all over us and hit the underneath stuff that LBs and the Safeties were responsible for. 
 

Not a fan of Elam and he had a poor first but I don’t think Benford being in instead of him changed anything. They were still moving the ball around easily prior to his exit.

At least by not playing much this year he was able to maintain an elaborated notebook.  My guess is that some team thinks they can salvage him and we get a 6th for him??

Elam is the result of Beane panicking. He actually wanted Sauce, and then McDuffie. After KC snagged McDuffie Beane panicked and picked up Elam.

As soon as Benford went down, I thought the Bills would lose, and that even if we beat KC, no Benford, no chance against Philly.  There was no way we would win with Elam imo.  This year was gravy, and it was awesome.  Next year is the year the Bills make big jump.

He will never be a quality NFL corner…ever.  Looked bewildered out there. Couple him with Damar on the field?? What did anyone expect.  
 

Rapp and Benford need to stay. Douglas didn’t look great but still believe he can be good.  Damar can hit the bricks also…done with him.  Need a new starting safety and better backups.

 

Problem is you need a quality pass rush to give the dbacks a chance.  Don’t get that from our line.

 

 

How Elam was drafted is absolutely puzzling.  He doesn’t fit the defense at all, as he isn’t very good in zone coverage.   So he played man and also wasn’t good and victimized several times.   The Bills will decline his option and would be wise to trade him for the 7th round pick they might be able to get.  

Damar is decent in zone defense but they had him playing man coverage to disastrous results especially when he was isolated on Worthy.  What a mess.

 

I’m also disappointed he didn’t try to deliver a bit to hit to PM on the goal line.

Elam is certainly a big disappointment. Good thing they were able to find a guy in the 6th round that could play at such a high level. Wasn’t that Brady’s round. As they said about the 49ers, it doesn’t matter HOW you get a QB, it matters THAT you get a QB. Same with CB, I guess.

 

There are hits and misses all over the draft.

Concussions are a highly variable thing.  Both my kids have had "mild" concussions that kept them out 2-3 weeks with symptoms even though they could pass a neurologist's mental questionnaire/assessment. 

 

A lot of it seemed to rely on the self-reported symptoms they were experiencing, and if you apply that to an ultra competitive professional athlete.....

 

Even at the child level I was shocked at the large number of parents who still preached the attitude that you play through them unless the symptoms are severe.

 

So, I don't know how these players recover in a week but I have some suspicions...
